just looking for some ideas on how to keep one baby in place by the door while taking the other baby out to the car. my girls are getting a lot more mobile now so i can't just lie them on the floor anymore but i'm hoping to avoid purchasing any more pricey baby equipment. i'd love to know what you all did & how long it worked for. TIA.

I used the PNP and I read that others have successfully used a Bumbo seat by the door.

At 5 or 6 mo. I started freaking out when they started rolling over... and I'd been nursing on the bed, and knew that time was over. So we had extra room in our living area and I created a "baby play area" ... or a "baby jail" as one friend called it. basically its a superyard attached to the walls. I would think that a PNP or a exersaucer would work well too!

Ours are 11 months old and all of those still work. I use the exersaucer to contain one while I get the other in or out of the bathtub when I'm by myself. Good luck.

I currently use singleton umbrella stroller I got for $1 at a yard sale (new they are $17 at BRU)…I dont leave him at the door as its a schlep from our front door to the car... I walk out w/ one on my hip and push the other in the u.s. and load one while the other is in the stroller watching… I leave the stroller out for when I come back… I unload one and put him in it and carry the other in… HTH (and makes sense)

When in the house I have a play-yard (the fence attached to walls with a playmat and toys inside) as one station, exersaucers as another station, and the PnP as a 3rd station. I also still use the swing and bouncy seat, though the boys are growing out of them now.

For getting the babies to the car I use the double stroller. It's been a couple of months since I have been able to maneuver them together in their car seats. I just put them in the stroller and wheel them out to the car, then put one in the car, wheel the other to the other side and put him in, then put the stroller in the trunk. I wheel them back into the house using the same method, the stroller.

I actually bought a 2nd snap & go... and guess i don't have your issue... b/c I'm able to load them in their carseats in the house SNG... then I wheel them out to the detached garage... down the fun ramp (they love that part of the venture!) for the few steps outside our front door... and then I leave the "house SNG" in the garage and load them in the car. I have a 2nd SNG in the car for when I'm out & about... a little overkill, and I'm not sure what I'll do when I quit using the car carriers... I guess my system has been working for us for so long that I'm afraid to change... they are 11 months now, and I guess I'll just keep using the carriers until we can sit forward facing and get full carseats...

We used a bumbo by the door, then a PNP, once they outgrew their infant carriers. Now I just leave them in the living room and hope that they don't do anything stupid while I'm putting the other one in the car.

We have a superyard, that we have stretched out behind our couch that blocks off the door. I run one out to the car and the other is contained well in the house with the steps blocked off.

    That's funny :rotflmbo:

I leave one on the floor while I put the otherone in the jogging stroller in the garage and
tell the dog to watch him/her :D
