I did a baby book for my oldest DS, but I haven't done any with my twins yet, and I'm starting to feel guilty about it. What have you done for your twins? One book or two? I was thinking of doing a journal style instead of the Hallmark store version. Does anyone have any non-traditional methods?

On the one hand, I feel guilty not doing one, like they will think I was a bad mom later or that I love their older brother more. On the other hand, I really want some time for myself after they go to sleep and they should just be happy that we're surviving this first year in one piece. (I figure they can sort out all of their negative emotions about it with their therapists when they are grown.) :)

I'd love to know what everyone is doing and any fun ideas. TIA!

I have a book for each of them and I haven't gotten ANYTHING written in there! I've been trying to write down milestones on the calendar so SOMEDAY when I have a moment I can fill in the blanks but I'm SO behind. I also have a nicely detailed baby book for older DS. The difference between 1 and 2 is amazing as far as time goes. I'm also using the excuse that my oldest DS started STTN at 3 months and we hit 7 months tomorrow for these guys and they are still waking at least once a night (sometimes 3!). So I'm adding that to my list of excuses. One of these days I'll get it done (I hope!!).

I just bought baby books for the twins the other day at walmart. I love the ones that go to 5 yrs because it's fun to look back at the little blurb's I wrote about the birthday parties for my son and daughter.

I bought one that said "Thank heaven for little girls" and one with the boys version for them. I have seen one set of "twins" baby books that you buy 2 of, but they are $25 each and with 4 kids, we just need to save that extra moolah for other stuff! :)

I have two traditional baby books that go up to five years... I was good about keeping them up-to-date for the first 4 months but i haven't done a thing since! I have every intention to update them... we'll see, with two, it's a little overwhelming!

Don't feel bad. I haven't started one for my twins either. I started one for ds1 but never finished his either! I got a cute little journal for mother's day so I'm going to use that to write milestones and funny things the kids do in there. I'm hoping my kids will understand someday why they don't have a baby book.

My SIL gave us a great gift when they were born: baby calendars with month and milestone stickers. She said she was too busy with newborns to actually write things in a baby book, but she could always jot something quick down on a calendar hanging on the wall of the nursery. I haven't been religious about filling them out, but I have put stickers on for "feeds self", "pulls up", etc. And sometimes I even write down their weights for the month.... ;)

We got Twice Upon A Time books. You get one for each baby and they are made for twin mom's. It's all fill in the blanks and it's a pretty cute little story book. I recommend it since it takes very minimal time to fill out although I haven't touched mine in over 6 months. Oops.

I'm with you on feeling bad. I have baby books filled out for all 3 of my older kids, but, even though I have books for the twins, I've hardly written anything in them. I feel horrible, but honestly I just haven't had time. You are definitely not alone!

I finally wrote some of the milestones from the calendar in their books for their 1st birthday. A lot of stuff it asks for, I don't remember. Oh well. I tried. I'm sure they'll understand!

Me too! I scrapbook so was planning on making them a scrapbook each since they hit different milestones. Then I thought I would just make one and get it color copied 2 times. I would keep the original and give my boys the copies. If they were girls, I wouldn't do copies. If they are anything like my DH they won't care about baby books. I kept my food/diaper journal for a year and wrote all their milestones in there. When I finally get around to making scrapbooks...when they are in high school...I'll have all the info in one place.

I haven't done any, yet, either. I feel terrible about it.

I have OnceUponaTime & had their footprints done while they were still in the Special Care Nursery. Our diaper/feed daily logs have been great & we take photos almost everyday. I also have a dumping ( old diaper)box for different papers & small knick-knacks. Someday I'll sort thru it & make something with it.

I am using a journal for each of them...I had baby books for my other kids and never finished them.

In the journals I am writing about the stuff they do...just a quick little note. Also I put in pictures and stickers from the doc about their weights and growth...hopefully I will keep it up!
