Baby Acne

My poor little guy Drew has a terrible case of baby acne, it's popped up just in the last few days. They get a bath every 3 days with a very gentle baby wash and I wash both of their faces with a wet washcloth (no soap) every morning. And of course they get "spot cleaned" after each bottle as they are pretty messy eaters. Is there anything I can do to help get rid of the acne, it doesn't bother him any, but it just looks awful.

Nope. Our ped said there is nothing to do but wait it out. Just do as you are doing.. washing with water and no soap. Meara had it for a couple of weeks when she was little and then it cleared up and hasn't been back since. -Leighann

 

My oldest DD had baby acne and there is nothing you can do to help it go away. She had pictures scheduled one day after it appeared. It literally popped up all over her face in one day. However, within a couple of days/week it went away. Keep doing what you are doing and it will disappear on its own. Good luck!

 

My daughter and niece both had it and you just have to leave it alone! You can make it so much worse if you mess with it. It WILL pass. Time heals...

I think I have heard of some people using Cetaphil soap on baby acne. I would ask your ped.

 

I echo what everyone has already said. My boys had it from about 4 weeks until 12 weeks. My pediatrician said it peaks around 8 weeks and diminish shortly afterwards. Just keep their faces clean and wait it out. It's not pretty but at least their healthy!
