    Hi all,

I am 35 weeks+ now, baby A is head down and baby B is transverse. I always feel movements from baby A but I'm having a hard time feeeling baby B (at least in the area where he's supposed to be alone). From the fetal stress assessments hes' fine though. What about you? do you always recognize them?

Also, have you had pain from one of your babies flipping? baby B was transverse in one direction and completely flipped. I think I felt the pain when it happened. It was awful, I even thought I was starting labor!

Yes I can easily tell them apart, as baby a is head down, and always head butting my cervix. Baby b is in my upper uterus, transverse. Baby b does a lot of flipping...he likes to change what side of me his head is on lol And yes it hurts like heck, makes me sick to my stomach. He woke me up the other night doing this and it wasn't pleasant.

I don't know about the point you are at now, but I can feel the re-arrangements in the night when I turn from right to left and vice versa. There is a total baby shuffle in there. I haven't had a sono in awhile so I don't know really who is who anymore.

My boys are pretty much one on one side, one on the other, so I can really feel their movements as separate. Its only the punches/kicks to the belly button that I can't really tell.

Baby B was footling breech for awhile and now he is vertex--I felt it when he turned (around 26 weeks, I think) and it hurt like heck.

I worry about this all the time. My girl is breech, and my boy is transverse in front of her. I can ALWAYS feel him, but struggle to feel her unless she begins kicking me in the crotch! All day today I have been trying to get her to move so I can feel her- but everytime I get worried, everything checks out at the exams. I am putting faith in the fact she is just behind him and harder to distinguish. I can totally relate to your post.....

oh, I forgot to add, yes the movements hurt. I don't recall my single pregnancy being this painful.

My Baby A is breech and the only way I know for sure I'm feeling her is when she has hiccups that I feel very low, like on my cervix. Baby B is head down on the right side and I feel him much more. I can never tell who I am feeling on the left side. . . . whether it is her feet, his feet or both!

However- At my NST today, they were both moving like CRAZY!!!!!!

At my last check up (25 weeks) both babies were head down but pretty much turned transverse by the end of the u/s. It seems they really like this transverse position! The prior 2 u/s's they were transverse most of the time. The right side of my belly is more pronounced when they are both laying that way. They also like to move around at night too....I can feel them lots in the middle of the night when they want to move around and there are many painful kicks everywhere! Good luck to you!

I totally relate to you on this one. I am almost 35 weeks. Baby A is head down and Baby B is breech. I have never felt her move much, but learned it could be due to the fact that she is deeper in the womb. My ultrasounds at first showed her to not be a very active baby. I was worried about that for a long time. baby A moved like crazy. Now, the tables have turned. Baby B is moving all the time and A is always taking forever to pass his NST's. I think its just the position he is in now. Trust what the tests say. They wouldn't let you leave if they weren't passing. I understand the worry though, I can't even count my ER trips anymore because of worry LOL.

Just had an u/s today, and it showed both babies head down. Which was surprising for me, cause I though baby a was trasverse with his feet in my left ribs. Turns out, it's baby b, and she's hoggin her brother's space, stretching her feet over onto his side. I get tons of movement on the left side, up top, and in the cervix, but almost none on the right side. As for pain, oy vey!! Sometimes, I feel like they are falling out!

Rest assured that if your NST's & Ultrasounds show that they are fine they are... I always had trouble feeling baby A because of the position that he was in and where my placenta was located it acted as a cushion for all of his kicks! :p The only thing I could feel of baby b was his head since it was lodged very far down inot my pelvis for my ENTIRE pregnancy!

As far as pain when they turn... ABSOLUTELY. Especially since you are so far along and they are running out of room. Mine were both head down very early on in my pregnancy, but baby B flipped during labor as baby A moved further down the birth canal... At the time I was telling the nurses that something was wrong, and that this should not feel that way. They said it was just the babies moving... I have been through labor before and can tell you that neither my daughter's 30 hour labor or the twins labor was as bad as when baby B decided he wanted to come out butt first!!!

I am 33 weeks now and both girls are head down (and have been for the past 2-3 months). I always had to be reassured that Baby B was fine because I couldn't really feel her moving. On ultrasound though, she was just as active as Baby A. That is still the case - most of the movement I feel is on Baby A's side, but I am assured that they are both doing well. Since they are both head down there are FOUR FEET kicking up and I imagine they can pretty much go where they want to! But I also can't tell who's feet are who's. I've heard this from other twin moms too, so trust the u/s and the NSTs.
