Now that we have ad some time to adjust and settle into some kind of routine, I have time to update ya’ll on the babies. Allison was discharged form the hospital on Thanksgiving Day. It has been a trying and rewarding experience learning how to take care of her. When she cries it breaks my heart, but I realize it is her only way of communicating other than my feeble attempts at reading her body language. Her brother Lucas was upgraded from the NICU the same day and is currently residing in the NCCU (Neonatal Continuing Care Unit) which is a step up from intensive care. He is doing well for the most part. The only thing that eludes him is the bottle. He doesn’t yet have his sucking reflex down, so he is still getting the majority of his feedings through a tube which is threaded through his nose into his tummy. Allison has her first Dr. appointment on Friday and I am sure she will pass with flying colors. The next few days will be spent catching up on sleep, my housework, finally getting to exercise again, and other things I have been unable to do.

Hugs to you. It's tough having a twin still in the NICU and one at home, but it'll all be worth it once Lucas is home. Yay Allison :a_smil09: - Go Go Go Lucas :clapping:

    congrats on getting her home!

I know how hard it is to have one at home and one in the hospital, but at least you get acclimated to one before you get both home. I'm sure he will be home soon!

    Take Care!

Congrats on bring one baby home. I know that is a great feeling to finually have one home. I brought Nathan home and had to leave Natalie and it was very very hard but it did get me adjusted slowly to having newborns at home. When I first brought Nathan home I was thinking this is a piece of cake (he is also my laid back one). Then when I brought Natalie home it was a totally different story. Get as much done now as you can b/f the other one comes home. That is my one bit of advice. Good luck and take care of yourself. Trying to be a supermom will wear you out. So take care.
