I have one daughter that just does not like tummy time at all. When I put her on her tummy, she turn over within seconds. I turn her over numerous times a day, and although she isn't crying anymore....she just doesn't stay that way.

    My questions are:
1- If your DC didn't like tummy time, how old were they when they started to turn from their back to their tummy? (I don't know what the incentive for turning over would be if they don't like to be in that position).

2 - Did you do something that helped your DC enjoy tummy time more??

    Thanks!

    What does DC stand for?

I started getting the babies into tummy time by having them lay on my chest or my SO's chest. We would push the recliner way back so they can lay on us. Once they got the hang of it, we put them on the floor. At first they could only stand it for a few minutes, but that's all you need a day. Keep at it, put them on their tummy for a few minutes a day. Sooner or later they may get the hang of it.

    DC stands for Dear Child.
Ditto what pp said about laying on your chest, this is what we did with my DS. Also, we bought a tummy time turtle. It's a turtle that has a mirror on it and a few toys attached so that when they are on their tummy they can look in the mirror and play with the toys. I think its made by fisher price. Good luck!

Yes, I've also heard that laying a baby on your chest is ideal. They love to look at you!

try holding them on a yoga ball too, it's a different surface, they are up higher and they can't roll (with you holding them) do it in front of a mirror for added fun :)

For tummy time we used boppy pillows on their activity mat so they had something to look at and also a different angle. We also put them on our chests so they could look up at us. My one DD did a lot of tummy time. She liked it and wasn't a spitter. My other DD was a horrible spitter so she did much LESS tummy time than her sister. They rolled (both ways) within days of each other... they also sat up, crawled, cruised and walked within days of each other. So my thought with tummy time, is do what you can but don't stress out about it. Its great that she can roll from belly to back!!! Woohoo for hating tummy time enough to roll :)

The boppy pillows have played a HUGE part in tummy time for our boys. I think the main reason they don't mind it so much.

My DS hated tummy time. I used to put him on my chest and do his tummy time that way.
