Hi everyone! Tomorrow I´ll be 32 weeks, I saw my Dr. today and everything looks good, BP, weight gain for me and the babies, etc... but he mentioned I might not make it to Christmas! That would put me around 36 weeks.... I´ve always had small bellies (and babies!) with my singletons. so I´m not very surprised.... so, has anyone been told their babies are having little space in utero and what was the outcome? I´m concerned about their weight and NICU time....
BTW they are both breech so I´ll probably end having a c-section, it doesn´t look like they have space to turn around... :nea:

Hey, Due Date Buddy! :) Maybe we'll both end up having Christmas babies. :)
Yeah, I've seen 6 different OBs now and a couple of them said we'd probably last till 36 or 37 weeks. That was more a twin thing in general though. This is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure how this works, but do your babies have IUGR? If not, how do they "run out of room"? Wouldn't you potentially just keep expanding outward?

From what I've seen, if you can make it till at least 36w or a few days past, they'll probably have little to no NICU time. No guarantees, of course, but I've read several places that the average gestation for twins is supposedly 36.3 weeks, and 25% of all twins (including all the ones born earlier than that) spend time in the NICU. Hang in there, Mama!

(And hopefully others with more knowledge than me will be able to give you more helpful responses. ;))

My boys are not having IUGR issues, but I have an "irritable uterus", so once I begin contracting I dilate and efface very fast, that´s probably why he thinks I won´t last long. My 3 singletons have lasted only till 37 weeks, so having twins last until 36 weeks is a great deal for me!

Ah, that makes sense. And thanks for explaining "irritable uterus"--I've heard that term but didn't quite understand it.
Hoping you do make it to 36w!!

I have no advice but I wanted to reassure you that even 36 wks is great, especially with twins! My son was born at 36 wks, he was 5 lbs 13 oz and only spent a week in the NICU. He had no breathing issues but he did have some problems with his blood sugar at first, and then he was diagnosed with acid reflux and sleep apnea, but both of those are just normal issues and not related to him coming 4 weeks early! Hang in there!! :)
