At what week is it safe to say that the babies dont change positions ??
Or can the change right up until the point of going into labor ??
I am just trying to figure out if I will know ahead of time if I will need a c-cection.
Baby A is aways head down, baby B was head down also but at this week's appointment she was breach.
I am pretrified of a c-cection...even more now that I read the c-cection thread... :rotflmbo:

Sorry to say, but they can change at any time. It seems like most people say their babies didn't flip after about 34 weeks, but there are definitely women whose babies changed positions right up to the last minute.

Those babies can be so unpredictable and can change up to the last second :acute:
Try not to stress out about the thought of having a c-section
Mine went sooo smoothly & I was up taking care of my girls & feeling good once home from my hosptial stay.
People tend to post more about their bad experience when they have one than the millions of great experiences!

I have one who has always been head down. Baby B started off frank breech (in fact they were repeatedly kicking each other in the heads at 20 weeks!). At about 25 weeks, she was transverse. At about 29 weeks, she was curled up in a completed ball - I was worried she was going to come out with hip problems because her legs were over her head and her bum was down. At about 33 weeks, she was completely head down and has stayed that way as far as I know (I'll get another peek next week). I never felt any dramatic movements for these major changes - must have happend very very slowly.

I had one baby who flipped several times between 34-36 weeks (confirmed by weekly ultrasounds) - and I've read of others on the board flipping later than mine. It was irrelevant for me - I've had c-sections with all of my children and I absolutely LOVE them! I agree with pp that people tend to report their horror stories more than their good stories. Mine have all been very easy!

    Good luck!

I'm only 24 weeks...my Baby A has always been head down, and so far Baby B is attempting to try out every position he can (head down, transverse, breech, backwards)! I have to have a scheduled c-section, but I would like little B to get in a more cozy position for this momma. Transverse hurts!!!! I had an emergency c-section with my son...and it was hard the first two days afterwards, but all in all not that terrible. I just keep telling myself that THIS time at least I get to skip the labor part and go straight for the c-section. That'll make for a nice change!!!!!

I currently have 4 little feet kicking my bladder and cervix. It stinks. I would love it if they would turn again. ;O

I had one that turned at 35 weeks and one that turned the night before my induction at 38 +1. So, they can move up till the last minute. I didn't think it was possible.

My Baby B flipped from head down to breech somewhere btwen 35w4d and 37wk2d. He was still breech at birth 1 week later.

My Baby A regularly switched from breech to transverse. He was breech at the 35 and 37wk marks and was transverse at birth.....
