Are you going to put your twins in the same crib? We are ordering two cribs, but the room next to our bedroom can only fit one. We eventually plan on making a room upstairs the nursery, but that involves walking up and down stairs however many times a night for feedings.
My plan is to keep them in the room next to ours in the same crib for a few months... any thoughts?

i am putting mine in the same one for maybe a week but other than that...they are going in their own. but i am going to try to raise them as indiviuals. so thats where i am starting. plus i am super worried about SIDS and i think that separating them will help me not be as stressed about that. but i would say in your case...try one crib! alot of women on here have used just one. keep your mind open. you never know...they may not like being in the same one. they may sleep better apart. :) GOOD LUCK!!!!!

We are crib sharing. As little as they will be, we see no need for seperation. As they get older we may go ahead and seperate them.

We wanted to crib share and they seemed to love it...but by 3 weeks DD was scooting her way (somehow) over to her brother...trying to suck on his face, I think because she would look like she was rooting her way toward him. We started to get scared the one could accidentally smother the other so they've been in seperate cribs ever since (almost 8 weeks). The cribs are next to each other along one wall and we put them to bed so their heads are near each other..that way they can stll hear the other breathing, grunting, etc. for comfort.

My two have been sharing a crib since they were born. It used to be no problem at all, they were out of each other's reach, and we have the crib in our room to make it easier for feedings. This definitely helped us a lot. They are now nearly 16 weeks old, and growing too big to be put in the crib vertically, and they are a lot wrigglier. We find now that they hit each other accidentally in their sleep, and their crying can wake the other up. As they only get up once a night at the most to feed now, we are planning on separating them and putting them into their own rooms as soon as we get back from our holiday.

We're going to put our two little ones in the same crib for awhile.. We planned on getting a second crib but then thought that for now they can room together. We can pick one up when needed!

We have two cribs set up, but will probably have the twins share a crib at first. If nothing else... how cute will it be with them sleeping next to eachother!

we had three cribs two in the nursery and one is our bed room. they slept in the same crib for about 4 months will they started moving around in the crib.
in the begining they were swaddled up and did not move much so they stayed on there own side of the crib.
    good luck

We have 1 crib in our room for now and also have a PNP in there so I think we are going to try to start them in the same crib but if they dont sleep well together or it makes me to nervous we will probably have them sleep seperately. I too am freaked out about SIDS

I co-bed mine for several months. You can get a crib divider if you are concerned about them getting close enough to scratch one another or suffocate.

My twins are 8.5 months old and have been in the same crib since day 1. I slept in the same room with them when they were waking up every 3 hours but now that they sleep through the night, I don't.

My twins are also very above average in size and they do fine in the same crib- i think it's good for them :)
Mind you, I have another crib set up, they just don't use it.

Many twins crib share. Just make sure they are far enough apart that they can't accidentally put their arms on each other. Once they start moving around more you'll either want a crib separator or separate cribs.

We had ours in the same crib until around 3 months. The only reason I separated was because I would find Ellie all cuddled up next to Will and I was afraid she was going to smother on him or smother him. I really wanted them to stay together but figured it was time. And I was so worried because they were sleeping through the night together and I thought that when separated they wouldn't. It didn't even phase them.

there are definitely various opinions on this!

they were in a cosleeper together next to my bed until around 8 weeks and then they were in a crib together until about 4 months. At that time I caught Addison squishing Ella into the side of the crib so we moved them into their own cribs. They are still in the room together though.

We made it a couple of months but that was it - they were rolling into each other. Is there no way to cram two cribs in there? Up and down the stairs doesn't sound like fun either!
