I am just curious. I am a white american. My husband is from India. I have red hair and green eyes. He has black hair brown eyes. I assumed that his traits would be dominate to mine. The babies are 4 months old. They have blue eyes with a tinge of green and a tiny tinge of brown. Their hair is a medium brown. What is the likelihood that their eyes will stay this color? Anyone have any experience with this combination of genes?

My dh has hazel eyes & dark brown hair (born almost black). I have a blond girl with blue eyes (like mine) and then both my sons have med-light brown hair. Honestly at birth I expected two dark haired babies. I was shocked!

My aunt is caucasian and her husband is Spanish/Native American. She has dark brown hair with light green eyes and he has black hair and dark, dark brown eyes.

Their son has dark brown hair and green eyes and their daughter has black hair and dark brown eyes.

    So, you never know! :)

I am white and my husband is Puerto Rican. He has dark hair and dark eyes, I have medium brown hair and light blue eyes. My DD was born with very dark hair and blue eyes. She will be 4 in February and now has light brown eyes and medium brown hair. Her eyes didn't change until after she was a year old. The boys eyes are very blue now. They are 1 year (9 months adjusted). We think they might actually keep the blue. Both my fathers parents had blue eyes and he ended up with hazel eyes. Sometimes it really is hard to tell what they will end up with.

I am a mix of german and native but my coloring is dark. Dark hair dark eyes olive skin, my husband has black hair, fair skin and blue eyes.

I was sure any kids we had would look just like me but the boys have light brown/sandy blond hair and sky blue eyes! Who knew, I guess those German genes were stronger then I thought.

There eyes could very well stay that color.

I'm white, blond hair, and DH is half Filipino (and he's very dark as far as that goes-he definitely favors his mom). His dad and my mom are both blond hair, blue eyes. All four of our children have dark skin, hair and eyes. I keep waiting for my blue eyed baby, but nothing yet :)

I am "cajun" and my DH is exactly 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Greek... we both have BROWN eyes, but not black (or so dark you can't tell). All of our children have green or blue eyes. They caught every recessive gene we have!

My grandmother's family is from Mexico (she's the 3rd sibling and was born right after they moved to America) and my grandpa is from Arkansas with blond/red hair and blue eyes. They had 8 kids with the following eye colors: blue, blue, hazel, hazel, brown, brown, brown, and blue.

One of my blue-eyed, red-haired uncles married a woman who's family is also from Mexico and they have four kids that range from blue-eyed red/blond hair to brown eyes brown hair.

Genes can be a funny thing. :) If the brown in your boys' eyes just started to show then it's possible they are getting ready to turn brown. If it's always been there then it's a little more likely they'll stay a hazel color.

Thanks for your input! I found all of your stories interesting. I'll keep you posted as to what color they end up.

Regarless, of race/ethnicity I think most babies tend to get darker hair as they get older. I don't know about eye color, but like everybody said it's hard to know what gene combinations for coloring will show up.

I'm blonde haired, blue/green eyes and pale and my twin's father was cuban with black hair, medium brown skin and medium brown eyes...

My DS is blonde-haired, blue eyed and light skinned. DD has brown hair, dark brown eyes and is darker skinned than DS

I thought both of my children would come out looking cuban with just lighter skin. But DS looks like he came from two white, blond-haired parents!!!
