Babies Are Here!

Well, as some of you know, I sent a very long time on hospital bedrest. I was released and had my cerclage removed last on Dec 3. That day I was 90% and 1cm and was told to come back on Friday for another check or sooner if I went into labor.

Well the week went by and Friday morning came. I woke up about 2am with really bad back pain and crampy feelings. I timed the peak points in the pain, but after an hour it was gone. So we just went back to sleep.

I went in for the appt and was checked. I was 5cm dilated!! So off to the OR we went. (My doctor thought a section would be best because of baby b's position.) My OB office is right next to the hospital so they wheeled me over. My appt was for 10am and by 1pm I was in the OR.

So my twins were born Dec 7!

Reagan Leigh came first at 1:16pm and weighed 5lb10oz and was 18 inches.
Jason Day came at 1:17pm and weighed 5lb7oz and was also 18 inches.

They both came out screaming and were great. No NICU time!!! (After such a long time on bed rest that was my biggest goal!)

As for me, I ended up losing a lot of blood and they almost had to give me a transfusion, but ended up not. I do have to take iron 2xday for at least the next month. Then 3 days after the section, the day we were planning on coming home, my blood pressure went really high and we had to stay another day. So I'm on meds for that now too. But I'm starting to feel more 'normal' now. Still very weak and tired, but not like it was that first day after.

We are all home now and adjusting to life with babies. So far they are doing great. I just love looking at them and holding them!!

So I guess I'm moving on to First Year!!!

I had an issue with my blood pressure after delivery, too. They sent a visiting nurse to my house for a week afterward.
