Anyone else feeling like this First Christmas isn't going as planned ...??? I just spilled my guts, but then lost the text so I am too mad to write it all again. Basically, many things have gone wrong ... family drama, Christmas cards that were ordered a month ago will not make it in time to mail out before Christmas , only received three holiday cards in the mail, family not around/not interested in doing anything with us in the season leading up to Christmas Day, family members who have said "they aren't doing Christmas" this year. I just thought this first Christmas was going to be speical. Not perfect. Not storybook. Just special. So far, everyone around me is a grinch. I hope the rest of you are having more fun this month!

I'm sorry that you are not having as much fun as you want. My DH is a big fat grinch this time of year, and me...I love christmas. So it is really hard. I understand what you are saying about how you wish the people around you seemed more "into it." My DS1 believes in santa for the first time, and it's my twins 1st christmas too. DH could care less...I don't even have a tree yet because he won't help me go get it. I hope that you are able to make this christmas special, don't rely on anyone else to do it for you...you're the mommy and you can make the memories wonderful
's, I am sorry it's not turning out like you expected. Try to concentrate on just your family, and especially those beautiful girls and their first ever Christmas! Make it special for them and don't worry about everyone else!! 's
Ditto to what Becky just said! Liana and Jadyn ARE what's special about this Christmas. Just focus on them and have fun. Forget everyone else and make it just about you guys being together on their very first Christmas!! I think you will find that it just might be more memorable for you guys that way anyway.
I think the best way you can make this Christmas special even with all the crap you are experiencing right now, is sit down with those girls on Christmas morning and open whatever presents you have with them, ripping as much paper as possible, take lots of pictures, sing songs to them and play Christmas carols. You will feel better even if its just for a little bit before you have to see THE FAMILY. LOL Oh and they are 11 months old, so I also suggest (depending on allegries) letting them tast Egg Nog for the first time. Take pictures, they lick their lips like its the best milk they have ever had!!!!! PM me if you need anything at all. This Christmas isn't what I thought it would be cracked up to either and I refuse to let anything ruin it. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
It is hard to enjoy Christmas when you are surrounded by Grinches and Scrooges. Here's to hoping you have a great Christmas anyway!
I think along different lines. I look at this Christmas as being the one where i can get away with being a little more lax, since they don't know what's going on yet. However, there is still a lot to celebrate. Try to find a quiet peaceful place within and just feel grateful. They are here after all! This time of year can be flippin' stressful. Not even close to being done shopping, house not decorated, etc. Just take it one breath at a time...
