I know b/h contractions can get pretty painful, but Im just wondering how bad you let them get?

Mine are quite painful, I can hardly breathe during the minute the contraction remans, but not all have the same intensity.... I asked my Dr. about them today and he told me it is normal for this stage....

If you are having painful contractions, you may want to call your doctor and at least just run it by him/her. In my experience, BH were uncomfortable but not really painful. Drink a lot of water and take it easy and see if they stop, but while you are drinking, I would go ahead and call just to be safe!!

My peri & OB said if I had more than 5 in a hour, I had to call.
    Good luck,

My B/H where similar to a period cramp. My REAL contractions, much harder, and take my breath away. Also my B/H come sporadically, as my real ones come in time intervals.

I agree with Heather. Give your doctor a call just to see what they say. Mine weren't ever what I'd call painful, just uncomfortable and tight. Keep us posted.

My OB said if I am having any kind of contractions or BH that are 4 or more an hour I need to call. (No matter if they are painful or not.) She said they don't have to be painful to cause changes to your cervix. If they have no real pattern and aren't that frequent you probably just need to drink more water. (That is what I have found to help me anyway.) Good luck!

    Thanks

Sorry to say, but it is reasuring that some of you had very painful ones. Doing labor 2x now I know what that feels like. These are BAD but not that bad. I have had more the 5 and hr but they are very irregular some close some farther away. I had b/h with both kids but they were just mostly annoying then, they didn't hurt this bad. If they get consistent or if something else happens like bleeding or leaking or something Ill call the Dr. For now since Jim is still out I think my farther might try and come help for the afternoon just so I can put my feet up for a minute. You know how kids can be, they get more "fun" when you need them to be more "nice". This morning Milo was flipping over the coffee table, Ella was cleaning off the shelves.... Thanks for your answers nice to hear what you experienced.

It´s the same for me, I´ve been through labor so I know how that feels, This are"bad but not as bad", they are inconsistent and I have less than 3 in an hour. With my singletons they were annoying but didn´t begin as early as this ones and they weren´t so bad...
Try to rest as much as you can, that really helps!
