So for about the last 2 or 3 weeks we have daily bouts of murder, death, kill where Max & Lily play fight like crazy. They can get pretty physical, but laugh hysterically while they are pinning each other or throwing the other to the ground. I am just wondering if this is a boy/girl twin thing, a twin thing, or a 2-1/2 year old thing. I just keep thinking this phase will pass soon, but some days I really worry they will hurt each other.

Mine will wrestle with each other from time to time, but it's usually about tickling or something of that nature.

They do fight more than I would like, and unfortunately, it's typically not play fighting. <_<

Mine wrestle all the time but almost never really fight.

Mine don't really wrestle, which is weird because me and my sister used to all of the time. I don't think it's a specific type of child thing, it's just a child thing.

I guess it is more like wrestling. I called it play fighting because you can tell the intent from the look in their eyes or on their faces, but they laugh and smile while they throw each other around so I know it is not meant to be violent or mean. If we try to stop them they get worse and seem to want to try to do it more, so we just give them an area in the living room when it starts so they don't get hurt.

I definately think that the wrestling is a child thing and wrestling that frequently I definately think is a twin thing. My boys started to wrestle as soon as they could walk, and now that they are almost 4, continue to do it. But not until recently have I heard the words "death, kill, and murder", and that is definately not to each other. If those words don't bother you, I wouldn't worry too much about the behavior. Sometimes they will get hurt, but most of the time it is just fun. At least they aren't running through the kitchen screaming at the top of their lungs to release their energy!!

Mine love to wrestle and they are G/G twins. I think its a sibling/child thing.

My b/g twins are the same age as yours and are doing this a LOT lately! I'm always holding my breath thinking they are hurting each other but they will wrestle and roll together on the floor and laugh hysterically. I love when they interact like this, and as long as they aren't being too rough with one another, I leave them be:)

Mine do exactly as you describe, they start out laughing but 9times out of 10 one of them ends up crying...

Yep, that describes it around here too. AND...9 times out of ten it is DD who ends up in tears, but it doesn't stop her from egging him on. :slap:

They don't say murder, death, kill. It is just a term we use when talking about they way the wrestle and not in front of them.

If only it was play fighting, I'd be happy. Mine will beat the snot out of each other almost hourly. DD is 5 lbs heavier and almost 2 inches taller then DS, and he gets pounded all the time, bit, scratched, pushed and pulled. Drives me crazy. Sometimes, I egg him on to get back at her( bad mommy.... not really)
