All 3 of my kids want to share a room, so we're thinking of buying some bunk beds and putting them together.. The girls are 3.5 and my son is 2. His room is painted Blue (would be the best room to combine them down to)

How could I decorate so it's both girly AND rough tough/boyish??

I'm thinking maybe cindrella on the girls side, and the trucks/planes that my son already has on his side (I use peelable/reusable wall decals)

They all love Dora/Diego, but with blue walls, how do I make that happen?? The girls' room is yellow which would lend more towards this theme, but they also have less space to be able to put that many beds, dressers, etc...

Maybe I need to take some pictures and post - that's an idea... Cuz I need some help! LOL

My B/G twins share a room and we recently got coordinating duvets and matching curtain for their room. The duvet covers and sheets were $19/set and the curtains were $20. So it was a good deal too. (All from Ikea.) The set also has small matching rugs, but I haven't gotten those yet.

    Rea's set
    J's set
    Curtains

I have a crazy aversion to character themes though, so that's why I didn't look at any princess or show themes. I think the Dora/Diego room would be cute though.

Hahahah Gina, we have the same sets. But I made curtains with some of the fabric at Ikea.

You could get wall decals that you can just remove when the kids are older... Personally I would have drawn the line and said no though, you will have to split them again down the road anyway... sounds like a lot of work and money for just a couple years top.

Also I don't think bunk beds are recommended under 5.

I think its cool that your kids want to share a room!! I have two girls and a boy too-and I was trying to figure out how in the world I would leave my son out-two of them have to share a room, no getting around that-so for now while they are still keen on the idea they will all three be in one room very soon-I am happy to get my guest bedroom back!!

I love your decor' Gina and Becky!! so cute! No idea what we will do yet!

    Good luck!!!

I have boy/girl twins who shared a room up until recently and we did a nature theme. It's totally neutral but can be nice and cozy for a girl and rough and tough for boys. We did neutral bedding, but recently I have seen some amazing brown and green bedding with nature themes that would work. Then you could use a big stick for a curtain rod, use pine cones, dogwood, shells, and leaves to fill up some nice plastic vases to put on shelfs, a cool fuzzy sheepskin rug, and a bunch of stuffed animals. We went on a walk and collected some of our items for their room. You could go crazy with so many themes like this but this is just what we chose. It was fun and served it's purpose well as a gender neutral bedroom. In fact, many of my friends told me they thought it could be a wonderful idea for a master bedroom(give or take a few items).

Luke & Lila share a room & I think it is great that your kids want to be together! Here is what I did for L&L, their room isn't huge so I just did what I could with some paint & bedding...

This is darling! Love the use of paint and names:) My duo share a room. Their cribs are head-to-head. We bought green polk-a-dot curtains and a green/yellow/tan throw rug from pottery barn kids. I found these adorable doggie posters online, I bought all four and framed them. Just found some fun cute artwork that works for both genders and the walls are painted a soft sage green.

Our nursery is split in half... pink/brown stripes painted on Jessa's side, with a big "frame" on the upper half of the wall and I put several framed prints/pictures in it with her name at the bottom. then on Davis's side its the same with blue/brown. I did this mainly because I'm not really into "character" themed things either... there is a lot more

my mil made them quilts that fit their cribs/toddler beds so I'll be using these when we go to toddler beds
    quilts

    Davis's side... Davis

    Jessa's side... Jessa

I love the IKEA sets - so cute! Not sure when I'll update their room to the next phase, I might just keep it until they separate closer to school age.

I am currently working on decorating my b/g twins in a safari theme. I am making quilts. I got cute leopard/zebra print sheets at Anna's linen for $8 a set. Looking for cute artwork of real animals to add. Sorry I don't have pics yet , but it is a great theme for b/g and mine love animals. We have them in bunk beds and they love them.

We did yellow walls with a star border that is primary colors that looks like they were colored in crayon. Then I picked up on the colors in the border for a denim looking glider and they we try to get star bedding or similar colors. I am wondering what to do when the crib/toddler beds go and we switch to twin beds in the next couple years.

when ours were together in our old house we did yellow/green and did Lambs & Ivy Froggy Tales...it also has some blue in it so you could combine it...

    Walls

    Windows

    Bedding

I realize the bedding is crib based but you could get some green and yellow sheets or light blue sheets for your son...
