    Hi!
DH and I are having a hard time with names...neither of us can agree on each other's names! He can't use a name if he knows someone with it...and he knows 'EVERYONE'!
With me they have to 'feel' right, is that weird?

We know we are going to use the name 'Eugene' for one of their middle names, it's a family name for dh. I don't care for it (sorry everyone who may like it) but I'm ok with it as a middle name.

I like Ryan...dh is agreeable to it, but not thrilled, so I'm going with it! haha

I mentioned Cody and dh actually liked it, but the more I thought about it, does it sound kind of baby-ish? I love it as a toddler etc....but when he's all grown up, does it sound like a mature name? What do you think?

DH's middle name is Christopher, and I really like that name, but he's not sold on it...I would love to have a CJ...

He likes Carter...I do too...BUT, where I live it's pronounced "Cartah", and that I don't care for. If Daddy said 'Carter', that would be ok, but he says 'Cartah'.

Just to add, I like more traditional names for boys....Todd, Lucas, Jacob, Brian, Matthew, Jack etc...
Dh likes more of the old western names...Smith, Wyatt (which he doesn't like anymore-I was warming to it...) etc..

Ok enough rambling...any thoughts ideas on how to come up with 3 names??
    many thanks!!

I've got a Jacob and Ryan and I've quickly learned how common and popular the names are. Jake will no doubt be one of at least 3 in his kindergarten class and Ryan will probably be one of 2. If you go with Ryan, I like the idea of the other name having a "y" in it too. We liked the names Jack and Kyle too. DH wanted to use Kyle with my fathers middle name "Edward" so his initials would be KEG. Kyle Eugene sounds good. HTH!

I also like the name Ryan......but we have someone in our family named that.......I am starting to like Rylan instead....just an option. I don't think Cody is just for a little boy....I think it's a nice strong sounding name. I also like the "western" sounding names........Wyatt....Jared.....Heath........those typed of names. Have fun picking out the names and keep up posted on your choices.

Ok, I don't have names to help with, we're still debating our boy names. But I wanted to say I can understand about not using Carter. We lived in the Northeastern US and had to stay away from names with our first two kids that had that 'ar' or er' ending. Or ones that ended with 'a' because then the 'r' sound could be added. I wondered about the first time our pastor's daughter would actually be called Teresa and not Tereser or my friend's little girl who was named Heather, but called Heathah. People from outside the area would call them by the 'right' pronunciation and I wondered if they would respond. One of the quirks of living in the northeastern US.

RE: the name Cody ... I have a 23 year old step-nephew named Cody and I have to say that I've always thought his name sounded a bit juvenile, but that's probably because my generation didn't have many Codys. For that reason I just can't picture a Cody in the business world but by the time your little one is that age, it won't be juvenile at all! It does go nicely with Ryan!

    Good luck!

I like Ryan and Kyle as well. I also think of Cody as kind of a toddler name, unfortunately. And I love Carter, actually I just posted that I love Carter in my "help me with a name" post, but we're from Wisconsin and no one up here is going to say "Cartuh!"

Wanted to say that for a CJ name, my DH is Christian James and I love that, if he were up for it I'd name this one with his names but DH doesn't like the idea of that for some reason. Christian and Caleb sound nice together.
