    Hi ladies,
I'm still breastfeeding exclusively (she eats 1-2 solid meals a day now though) and AF just returned. I guess I'm a little surprised - Sullivan turned 6 months old last week and for some reason I thought my period wouldn't come back for a while longer. Does this sound about normal?

I got mine back at 6 months, too. It stinks. :( I thought would have longer, too.

Its different for everyone, and after every pregnancy :(
With the twins whom I nursed till 14 months (and through the 1st trimester of a new pregnancy) I NEVER had a period.
For Kennedy (whom I exclusively pump for (due to a cleft palate), I just got my period back at 8 months.

I think mine comes back later than many people. Between 11-13 months with my single babies and 17 months with twins. But my cousin had it come back at 6 weeks to 2 months after each of her 6, exclusively BF babies. A friend had hers come back at 3 months and her baby is also EBF. So I guess it just varies, like pretty much every other hormonal thing. There are generalities, but nothing set in stone.

Sounds normal to me. According to my nursing friends, I'm a bit of a freak, too. We're down to 2xs for 1 baby, 3xs for the other /day and I still don't have a period. I'm shooting for 2 full years of no periods!

My AF came back a month after I had Lauralynn even though I was exclusively BFing her. It came back to a 28/29 day cycle. We think my body's enthusiasm in egg production is the reason we're having twins now.

There is huge variety! I've even heard of AF coming back a couple months postpartum for moms exclusively BFing twins. (I know, how cruel is that? :faint: ) So 6 months doesn't sound abnormal. Though definitely not fair!

I think I just got mine at less than 6 weeks postpartum? My boys are 6wks old on Tuesday, and I got what I think is my period yesterday. My postpartum bleeding seemed to stop over a week ago. Is it possible that I have my period already? Or is this a continuation of my postpartum bleeding? I have been BFing & pumping since their birth. My supply seems fair at about 50oz/day. I do supplement one feeding of formula during the night, and bottle feed EBM if I cannot take them to the breast throughout the day (due to latching issues, etc). I do see my OB on Wednesday, I am interested to see what he has to say. Any insight from you ladies on this?

cjoy - the first time around when I was nursing a little, pumping mostly and supplementing with my twins my postpartum bleeding stopped at 4 weeks or 4 1/2 weeks and my period came back right at 6 weeks. I think it's just different for everyone from what I can tell. I guess that's why my doc said after six months anything is possible when it comes to AF if you're exclusively breastfeeding.

After my twins, I did have some bleeding like that about the same time. I had stopped my post partum bleeding about 4 1/2 weeks, too. Then about 6 weeks had some bleeding for a couple of days. Then nothing until 17 months.
