At What Age Did Yours Climb Out of PNPs?

We use a PNP for my son, Conner, at naptime. We've had the boys separated for naps since they were like 8 mos old & EVERY attempt at putting them back together has been horrible (they sleep worse & always wake each other too early). The PNP is in our (finished) basement bedroom, but we rarely use a monitor since we can hear him through the vents (if he sleeps in it overnight, we use a monitor). We also use PNPs when we travel to the grandparents', which is usually at least once a month.

About 2 days ago, after posting on the "Still using PNPs" thread, I saw Conner swing his leg up onto the rail of the PNP. I IMMEDIATELY scolded him & told him we do NOT climb on our beds (we say that when they try to climb INTO their cribs, but they have yet to try to climb out...knock on wood!). He seemed ok with that, but now I'm paranoid. I know he COULD get out if he tried since he's tall enough, but I wonder if he truly would. He usually just cries until we come get him, but I'm super scared that he'll decide to climb out one day & get into something without us knowing (even with a monitor on, I doubt I'd hear him open the door). I cannot put the PNP anywhere in that room where he can't reach to grab something to help in his escape either, which is another problem. We're doing 2 nights/3 days in a hotel over Labor Day weekend where both boys will be in PNPs & I'm beyond nervous! Aiden is taller than Conner & much more daring, but Conner is also a follower, so if he sees Aiden...it's history.

So, at what age did your LOs climb out of their PNPs? And if they did, did they climb out of their cribs shortly thereafter? I'm praying we still have a few more months using them!!!

My girls started climbing out of their PNP's at 16 months, and they climbed out of their cribs for the first time at 18 months. Thankfully, it was a pretty isolated incident until they were 20 months and then they were climbing out of their cribs every chance they got. Good Luck!!

My boys started climbing out of their cribs somewhere around 22 months, maybe a little earlier. And they were climbing out of their PNP's right after turning 2. They sleep in a bed now.

They were 2.5 and we were at my parents and it was a nightmare because the PnP's were SO unstable (used and old) that I lost an entire night that night!! :( I hope it's an isolated incident!!

15 months for both. T&T climbed out of the PNPs when we were visiting family for Christmas (the naked Swiffering incident) and then we had our first crib climb out the day we got home and they went in for a nap. They're not tall, either... just strong-willed and strong-bodied.

K could climb out by 1 1/2. P could do it but never did. I stopped using them about 2. We started using cots that sit on the floor after that when we went away. :)

We used PNP's until 2.5 years old and neither of them climbed out, and they never tried to climb out of their cribs either. Lauren did the leg swing one time and I told her not to, and that was it.

Oh, I completely dread the day when mine learn how to climb out! I love to be able to contain them somewhere...for my own sanity  and for there safety!!

I am somewhat petrified of when this time comes. Not so much for the naps, but for the nightime sleep. I don't like the idea of them being able to get up and possibly roam the house (while I sleep) and me possibly not knowing. :shok:

They never climbed out of PNPs or cribs. They weren't climbers anyway, but we also told them they weren't allowed to do that, and they listened.
