At what age did you give lunch?

    I am only giving breakfast and dinner right now even though one of our pedi's said to give lunch. I just don't think they are ready for 3 meals. They only eat a little over 2 ounces of solids at a time and it takes forever to feed them that much.

    Note: They were 7 weeks early so adjusted age is around 5 months.

    I just started giving them lunch yesterday. At 6 months my girls wouldn't have been ready for it either. This is what we did yesterday...

    Breakfast- cereal and fruit ( they share a stage 3 jar)
    Lunch- stage 3 veggie split between them
    Dinner- meat and veggie ( i usually split a jar of each between the girls)

    Kelly, sounds early compared to mine....we started it at 9 mos. They really are getting the bulk of their nutrition form formula or bm!

    You have to follow your instinct on this one!

    Mine are only getting 1 meal (dinner) of rice cereal and a veggie. Should I be doing more? I was thinking of adding oatmeal and a fruit in the morning . . . sounds like I should get started soon.

    Mine have just now started cereal & fruit, I know my girls wouldn't be ready for the 3 "meals" yet. i know this is on here, but I can't remember when is ok for yogurt?

    I didn't add lunch until 11 months. [​IMG] There just never felt like there was enough time in the day to do it with bottles.

    I didn't give lunch until 7 months or so. My boys are just getting use to three meals a day and sometimes I think it is a little too much for them still.

    We added our 3rd meal last week. The girls do well with it and are still taking full bottles 4x a day too and have just started sleeping better.

    The pedi left the choice to us.
