At What Age Did/Will You Have a Christening?

With my DS we had a Christening at 3.5 months. I know it is supposed to be about church and not a big party, but in my family everyone comes.

With the twins (currently almost 6 weeks) the thought of planning an event drains me. The earliest the church could do it would be 11/8 which is 2 weeks after I've returned to work as a full time teacher and I'm assuming STTN will still be a ways away.

Then you get into the holiday season and the winter (I live in the Northeast). Is 9 months too old?

No, I don't think 9 months is too old. I only have 1 friend who had a christening, but she didn't have it until her daughter was around 1 year old.

My boys were baptised in NICU but we have not had the church cerimony for them yet and they 10 months old. So no I don't think that nine months is to old.

Personally I don't think one is too old but I Christened my two at age 1. :good: We wanted to do it in Serbia and didn't want to fly out there earlier with them so 1 it was. I don't think there are any set standards, as far as I know :pardon: so do it when you can.

I agree, 9 months is not too old. I've had friends who have had their children christened at a year (I was christened at 8 years old). Our twins were christened at 3.5 months old.

My older 3 were all christened within a week or 2 of their birth. The twins are now 3 and it still hasn't been done. I feel horrible about it & really have to get on it, but the longer you put it off, the easier it is to keep putting it off.

I don't think it's too late. My LOs were dedicated to the Lord at 8 months. It was a wonderful time.

Our boys will be christened in the summer they will be 8-9months old. All of our family is in Chicago so we have to travel. We wanted to do it this winter but I just feel they are too young for Chicago weather so we changed our plans. I don't thing 9 months is too old, and I agree do what works for you guys.
