We're not sure if we will be able to afford pre-school in the fall so I have been looking at getting curriculum packages that I can do with them here at home. The prices seem to be about $45-50 per monthly kit. Has anyone used either of these or do you have another one you can recommend?

I do home preschool with my kids and I found this website: http://www.letteroftheweek.com/index.html

It's free. Last year we did something similar to the Preparatory Curriculum section on our own so when I found this site a couple months ago we decided to start with the Letter of the Week section. So far so good, the kids are enjoying it! :D

When my girls turned 2, I bought the Mother Goose Time kit to try at home with them. At 2, they were too young to understand many of the activities in the curriculum, but I think your 3 year olds would do much better. Everything for the month comes in a box. There is a list of basic supplies they suggest you have at home (crayons, scissors, glue, etc.). There is a manual for every weekday of the month. When you're ready to start you turn to the page of the day and pick up the bag of the day from the box with all the items you'll need for that day and you're ready to go. Each day starts with going over the date on the calendar and talking about the weather, then there is some kind of letter identification, number identification sort of activity, and then there is a song to sing, and a craft of the day. There are 2 themes for every month, focusing on food, or animals, or a particular holiday.

I have no experience being a teacher to toddlers, so I loved that everything was laid out for me, especially the crafts which were fun. I found that it was a bit pricey for what they offered, but maybe that is because my girls were too young when I first tried to use it. I think from start to finish you could do each day's curriculum in 45 minutes to an hour.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have more specific questions.
