I was just curious what kind of bedrest everyone was on. I am on strict at home bedrest, but I was in the hospital for a week before I got here.

I spent weeks 16-24 on home bedrest, with a couple hospital stays in there, then weeks 24-28 in the hospital, and back on home bedrest from 28-30.5 weeks (my water broke at 30w5d, and I was admitted for delivery).

I was on hospital bed rest for 8 weeks!!! 50 days to be exact! It was crazy. At home I was for a few weeks
before I went into the hospital. It's a tuff time, any bed rest. I wanted to be out in the world to enjoy my pregnancy
    like my first child.

Krysten- HI! You were so sweet when I was in the hospital checking in on me. Thank-you! My girls are doing well :)...
little nervous about an x-ray coming up though  Hope things are going well with you!

Went for a routine u/s at 24.5 weeks and was never allowed to go home. On hospital bedrest for short cervix, funneling, contractions. The first week was rough, but now I am adjusting! They will reevaluate me at 28 weeks...I want to go home, but I don't know if I will be more anxious at home!

Just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you all. . . bedrest at home and in the hospital is not easy. Stay tough, ladies! (having done 11 weeks at home with one pregnancy, 6 weeks home/7 weeks hospital with my twin pregnancy)

I was on home modified bedrest from My 13 to June 25 and landed in the hospital on June 25 (30 and 2/7 weeks) due to pre-eclampsia. Tomorrow makes two weeks. We're hoping to get me to 34 weeks.

What is ptl and how is it measured?

I have just started modified bedrest last Monday 7/21 due to shortening cervix and funneling. Anybody have a cerclage? That may be a possibility for me, not sure yet.

I also am wondering about ptl and how it is measured!

PTL just stands for preterm labor. Good luck to all the bedresters. I have been home from hospital for 3 weeks. Got to venture out today for u/s. 31 weeks today. Baby A 3.9lbs. Baby B 3.0lbs. Baby A still very low and in vertex position (trying to get out), but my MFM Dr. stopped measuring my SEVERELY short cervix at 30 weeks. Next week he will start checking for dilation which luckily I haven't had yet. Keep them cooking!!

Hi everyone..new to this site. I am having identical twin boys. They are monoamniotic and so I am seeing a MFM every 2 weeks. I am 25 weeks and 5 days today. My doctor's plan is that I have ultrasounds every 2 weeks until week 30 and then I am being admitted for hospital bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy, which he says will not go past 34 weeks...

A little different, I guess, from a regular twin pregnancy, but will be on bedrest for a month at least. I hope I do make it to 34 weeks...Havne't had any ptl or cervix problems yet and so far, doc thinks everything looks great.

Good luck to everyone at there!

I was on home bedrest at 18 weeks for a shortening cervix, cerclage at 19 weeks,
delivered at 35 weeks 5 days. No NICU time!
Long bedrest but it was so worth it!

    Hi!
I was on strict hospital BR for one week at 24 weeks. I was sent home to stay on pretty strict BR (I can use the restroom, shower every other day and sit up for a little bit). Tomorrow I will start my 9th week of BR and Saturday will be 32 weeks gestation for our twins.

I just went on hospital bedrest yesterday for ptl and shortening cevix along with 2 cm dialation. They gave me two different meds to slow down the contractions but they only seem to be temporary fixes. The babies tend to be handling the contractions very well, though. Anyone given steroids to help improve the babies' lung function? That hurt!

I was on strict hospital bedrest from Week 22-30 (almost 31). It was horrible, I am not going to sugar coat it. Hang in there, it is all worth it in the end!!!!

I have been on bed rest now for 11 days. Fortunately i'm still at home, hoping to stay here as long as possible. I've been doing alright, staying busy by watching TV and playing on the computer. However I am starting to have some serious uncomfortable pain my back, and just overall not feeling well. We're just trying to think of the positives...more bed rest less NICU.
