Lately all of the sudden Ashley has insisted that I stay in her room while she falls asleep....if I try to leave she starts SCREAMING.....today, it took until after 11 (more like after 12 since I had to lay in the hallway and go to sleep myself in order for them to fall asleep.)

Does ANYONE have any good suggestions on how to fix this problem.....they were fine up until about 4 or 5 days ago.

If it is not a normal reaction for her then I think I would try to get to the bottom of what is happening. Has there been a change in schedule? Could she be teething? Any chance of an ear infection? It would drive me crazy too to have to stay in/near their room until they fell asleep....................I hope this is a short lived phase for you and for her!!

That has happened to me - but not a severe. My DH and I have two courses of action when this happens:
    1. I leave the room before he does. He gives the final good night kisses and turns out the light. For some reason they don't ask him to stay. If they do ask, he says that he has to finish his chores and will be back to check on them.
    2. If he is not home, and the ask me I will stay but for a short time. We have a CD player in their room. I will let them know that I will stay for 2 songs. When the songs are done I give a quick kiss and walk out without speaking.

    Hope it helps.
    cheers
