Argh, how to make it through the last few weeks? (35 weeks today)

My toes are now swollen along with my ankles; my knees hurt so much I can barely pull myself up off the toilet, and a haystack of stretch marks just appeared on my gigantic belly. I have no energy to do much of anything, including caring for my 3-year-old DD. Any tips for making it through the last few weeks with my sanity intact? TIA!

Oh my gosh, I sympathize, and I am two weeks behind you! My feet are blocks now. Luckily the swelling does not go into my legs, just the tops of my feet, toes and slightly in the ankles. It hurts to move. I also have a 2.5 year old, who is wound up all the time, since we hardly ever make it to the park anymore so she can run off some energy. So frustrating.

You are so close though, hang in there and put those feet up!

I am with you, but at 33 weeks. Sleeping is the worst for me. I just can't seem to get comfortable and I have restless legs.

I could have written your post word for word. I'm also 35 weeks today and I have a son that will be 3 in a couple weeks.
Sorry... I have no tips....BUT... I know how your feeling.

Just keep on thinking about your sweet babies and how great you are doing on cooking them and that the longer they stay in the better for them.

 I know it's not easy but it will be so worth it. :youcandoit:

Ovatar - I know what you are talking about. I am day ahead of you and feel the same way. ankle hurts because of the swelling.
and yes I am ready to have these kids now :) but so far trying to live one day at a time. hopefully will be fine until 36 weeks and after that will feel more safe :) and just another week before my c-section :)

 No tips here but agree it is totally hard!! My knees are killing me too, especially every time I have to sit on the toilet which is every 10 minutes it seems. And I swear the bottom of my feet are bruised from walking around on the tile in my house. I try to not go barefoot much but none of my shoes fit me! I have absolutely NO ENERGY either which makes caring for my 3 yr old totally brutal. I am only about a week ahead of you, but all I can say is that while every day DRAGS on forever, before you know it you will wake up and a week will have passed. Today I found out my OB will induce next Tuesday if I don't have the babies by then. That is so exciting but even now I am thinking how can I make it 7 more days?? But we all will make it and it will totally suck in the process but the bottom line is we are awesome and we can do it! Every time morale is low I try to remind myself how scared I was I wouldn't make it full term with the babies and they would have to spend significant time in the NICU, and that makes me feel a little less sorry for myself.

I can't give you any advice as I'm only 12 weeks but I wanted to just send you hugs...   I can only imagine how hard those last several weeks will be... Good luck cooking those babies!

No tips here - but I am completely with you. I am 35 weeks 5 days and I am completely miserable!! My feet and hands are swollen, I can barely get off the toilet either because of my knees and sleeping is completely a thing of the past - when I am not getting out of bed to go the bathroom, I am trying to roll myself over because my feet have fallen asleep. At this point contractions are getting more frequent - making just something else to complain about. My doctor has scheduled a csection for 7/2 (Baby B is breech) and I can't wait!!!

I've been there and I survived, and you will too! Just take it easy ... my oldest watched an awful lot of TV those last (winter) weeks and/or a friend picked her up for a playdate ... or a friend came to my house and I just laid on the sofa ...

I did deliver 2 large, healthy and full term twins at 38w2d (scheduled induction) ... so it was all worth it ...

Yes, send out the cry for help.. friends, family, anyone you trust can handle your little one needs to come and help you out. Absolute best is they take them to their house for a long playdate. Hey, that's what friends and family are for!
Sit around/lay around and try to rest up. Plug your kiddos into PBS or a movie and take a little nap on the couch.
Next thing you know you'll be as busy as a bee with two newborns and thankfully your feet will not be swollen!!
    Thinking about you.
