My twins are 6 1/2 months old. I have a boy and a girl. I just wish they would be a little bit more predictable in their sleeping and waking. It is frustrating. I know they are both in full teething mode. My girl is almost there. They both woke up in bad moods and that seems to be the mood for the day.

So just answer this: when do they start to get into more of a predictable nap schedule?

I know this has been asked a million, billion times. And I am sure many of you have been here or are here with me and my frustration.

Just feels better to vent it out instead of keep it in. YA KNOW??!!

off subject, ever have one of those days, you keep trying to stay positive and not let the little annoying things get to you but the day just has a mind of its own and wants you to have a BAD day. I refuse to give in. :headbang:

Thanks for listening!! :lazy: (need to go back to bed and be done with this day!)

It's funny you posted this because I was just asking my sister (who also has twins) this exact same thing. My b/g twins are almost 8 months old and I still don't feel like we have a good routine down because of them changing their eating /sleeping habits. Some days it's two naps, some days its 3, sometimes they wake at 5:30, sometimes they wake at 7. I never remember going through this with my 2 year old. I guess they just want to keep it interesting!

Mine started to get into a more predictable nap schedule around 6 months. That was when the kids went to two naps and started to follow 2-3-4 schedule. Teething can definitely wreak havoc with sleeping. Have you tried Motrin yet for your children?

At around 4 months, mine started taking a pretty predictable morning nap about 1.5 hours after they woke in the morning. Then at about 6 months the afternoon nap came into play and they were taking 2 solids naps and a catnap in the late afternoon until about 9 months.

You seem to have the same days as me!

Monday, they got up at 7, took 2 1/2 hour nap from 9 to 11:30, then 2 hour nap from 1:30 to 3:30, then bed at 6.
Tuesday, they got up at 5:30 (UGH!), only up for 2 hours at a time (the only thing that seems to be set) then took 3 one hour naps. Bed at 6.

Today, they got up at 6:30, took a 2 hour nap from 8:30 to 10:30, up for 2 hours, now just going down for hopefully for 2 hours but we will see.

See how it is all over the place. Ah, life with twins.

Yes, they go to bed at 6. I tried to get them to change when the time changed but they refused. Usually like to put them to bed at 7 but OH WELL!!

The only thing I can really count on is that when they go down it is usually for an hour! Hey at least I have that!

They still do wake up once during the night for a feeding which we are going to try to cut out ASAP, I know that will mess with them. But they are in bed almost from 6 to 6, give or take 1/2 hour

Once we did CIO at night we were able to get our two on a better naptime schedule. This is because we could finally just lay them down in the crib when they were tired rather than take the time to feed/rock each one to sleep. Now the length of their naps still vary each day so the timing isn't exact, but they go down for a morning nap about 2 hours after they wake in the AM, second nap mid afternoon and usually third nap about 4 or 5. We put them down at the same time and if one wakes before the other we let them play in the crib until the other one is up. The other thing we stick to is a morning wake up time. If one of them wakes too early we let them fuss and don't get them up until 6:30 or 7. They usually fall back to sleep. That way we don't have them on crazy opposite nap/feeding schedules.

I agree with other pp's, around 4 months for the morning nap, a little later (5 or 6 months) to get the afternoon nap down to a regular event. I also second the idea that a bit of Tylenol or Motrin will often help when teething is at its worst.

And, yes, I think we have all had those days. I hope tomorrow is better.
