Are your twins sensitive?

I have been noticing that whenever we reprimand the kids, not using even a harsh voice, that mine will crumple into pile of goo. This is not something that they have done before. Even hearing the beeping on the emergency test on TV today sent DD into tears. I asked my Mom if this was normal in children this age and she said it was, I'm just wondering if any of you have the same issue?

If you look at Royce wrong he starts screaming and melting. . .Alice, not so much. But I think a funky noise would send both into hysterics.

Yes. Both of mine are overly sensitive at times to being reprimanded and to strange noises.

my girls are a bit younger, but i've got one like that - Riley cries whether i'm reprimanding her OR Danika. i guess it's just the tone of voice she doesn't like.

brook doesnt mind noise, if i speak sternly he looks like he is being told off but he doesnt cry; oran is our sensitive petal, any kind of shouting he hates, at dan's birthday party last week we had balloons that make a noise when you let them down, he was soooo scared and was screaming, poor thing. even if dh and dan are playing roughly and laughing loudly he doesnt like it. i quite like having a sensitive baby though, the other two are so not!!

DS will cry if you talk sternly to him but it does depend on his mood. DD will meltdown at noises if she is very tired. DS is very cuddly and loves kisses and snuggles but DD isn´t so interested though she does like her mum´s kisses! Reading what you´ve put above has made me think "Oh no! another phase to go through!"

Josh is my sensitive guy. If I yell at Jake, Josh will cry.

Noises don't seem to bother them. Just yesterday we were in the car and a fire truck went by us and I was afraid they would freak out but they were fine.

Nancy, I'm so glad you asked this! I though my boys were just being babies! They are extremely sensitive to sounds and strangers. I yelled at the dog the other day and Jake looked like he was going to cry. I reassured him that he didn't do anything wrong, but it did affect him. Good to know they are "normal"!

On Occasion, especially if she is over tired, Kylee will be like that. Kaylyn not so much! :)

We went through this stage. About a month ago, DH reprimanded Jack for hitting - just a stern voiced "no hitting" - and Jack just fell apart for a few minutes. He did that "I'm so upset I can't make noise" screaming thing and went boneless and then when he finally did start crying, he was just hiccuping and inconsolable. It was the saddest thing. They would also both get really upset when we corrected the other. They seem to be moving out of that stage now. I hated it! It made me want to cry every time. :(

Thanks ladies! I'm glad to know that is common, I thought maybe it was us and we had to find a different tact to reprimand them or something.
