Are your toddlers obsessed with your breasts?

OK, maybe "obsessed" is too strong a word -- but Amy especially seems to have just realized that Mommy has these nice soft round parts and she always wants to look at them and caress them. (Fortunately not in public, at least not so far.) We only nursed until 5 weeks, so it's not an association with that -- she just thinks they're interesting.

I think part of it is that she just learned about bras (she saw some of mine on the drying rack and I had to explain what they were), so she keeps trying to peer down my shirt to see my bra. It might also be that it's getting warmer and I'm not wearing a sweatshirt all the time like I was in the winter.

I can certainly understand the fascination, but just wondering if this is common among toddlers?

Yes! One of my girls always pats mine and says "mama"....the other day a People magazine was lying on the coffee table and there was a picture of a girl with cleavage showing a little bit and she pointed at the cleavage and said "mama"!!!!! it was so funny! DH didn't think it was funny though and he promptly threw away the magazine!!

I dont' know why she is so interested in them....?????

It's funny you posted this! This has been going on with Natalie for about two weeks now. She keeps sticking her hand down my shirt & pulling my shirt open to look down there. I'm not sure if she is remembering nursing (she did for about 9 mos) or if it is a "new discovery" It does seem to be a comfot thing and is mostly when she is tired.

yes we have that here too, ooh they're squishy momma haha. They also informed me they want a "red bra" when they get older. The joys. They also like to lay their head on them and try to look down my shirt, they think its a game.

Sean is fascinated by mine. He's always trying to pull down my shirt and look at them. :shok: He does it everywhere and I've flashed many a stranger by accident.

Yep, we went through that a few months ago too. One time I was wearing a shirt with no bra (we were just sitting around the house) and one of them lifted up my shirt and saw my breasts and so I told them that's my boobies, and they wanted to lift up my shirt all the time and kept asking to see them. I finally had to tell them that my boobies were cold and needed to stay under my shirt, and that seems to have put an end to it. They will still point and say "boobies" if they see me changing, and point to their own chest too.

Surprisingly, no (and I'm the one extended nursing!) Maybe it's because there is no mystery there. If they happen to see me with my shirt off, they might say, "Milk!" They once took a peek down Grandma's shirt but only once. Clearly they've noticed that other women have them but it's far from an obsession (give them 12 years...)

DD is really enamored with them right now. Part of it, I think, was when I 1st started trying to limit the "binkie time" and I'd get one away from them.....normally I don't have pockets so I'd stick the binkie in my bra when they weren't looking. They caught on quick & pretty soon were patting me down, looking for hidden binkies!

But the other day I was changing & was just in my jeans & bra and DD looked at me & said, "Oh!! Boobies." :) My nephew went through that phase, too, when he was almost 3 I think. Old enough that my sister many times had to explain to him that "girls' chests are private & we don't touch them." Then she said the other day they were watching A Baby Story (she's due with a baby girl in 3 weeks) and my nephew says, "Aaaawwww! Look at the baby, Mama! And she even has a little chest, like Papa's!" Then he looked at my sis with his hands right in front of her boobs (but not touching!) and says, "We don't touch the big ones, like THESE. These ones are HUGE!!!!"

My girls are always putting their hands down my shirt and touching my bra and boobs and pointing them out...I wouldn't mind so much, but they do it in public as well.

My guys are always playing with my cleavage. Not really on purpose. Also whe I pick up the twins they are always pinching them. Again not on purpose. They are just something to grab on to.

How is it that they know how to tweak the nipple JUST right so that it causes ones spine to twitch? Mine have been doing this since 6/7m (again, not on purpose), but it drives me nuts! My boys like to say "boobies", but they are currently much more entralled with "daddy's pee-pee". I guess it's a 'blessing' to be a saggy, droopy, nearly B.

LOL, I was just thinking, hmmmmm.....no, mine don't seem to ever care or touch them except when nursing.

I didn't nurse them and they're both very curious about breasts. They'll pull on my collar and try to cram their head down my shirt. Auburn has figured out she can snap my bra straps, too. I admit I don't discourage it mostly because it's so funny to watch her do it, although I'm sure I'll regret it later ;).

Who would have known my girls boob obsesion was the norm.

Annalise has recently taken to pointing to my chest and shouting "balls, big balls" - home, in the store, where ever.

Jillian just snuggles right down in there - she's done that since I can remember. The only thing is, I can't have more than one layer on - if I have a sweater or sweatshirt on, it has to come off. :D

Yeppers..all of my kids were nursed and remember it. They love boobies.

    Funny story:

I had to have Garrett in Germany and my sister came to help out with the twins who were 19 months old when we got there from Turkey. Faithwas/is a very scared shy girl of people she does not know. Her and my sister butted heads all the time. Faith did NOT like her at all. So one day I told Faith, Aunt Katie has boobies also...Faith's eyes got BIG and round and she lifted up Katies shirt (much to the amusement of my sister who has no children) and was Aunt Katie's best friend from there on out. LOL It was the funniest thing in the WORLD. They are very close now...(not only because of boobs..but because they both are the only ones with blond hair and blue eyes.)

Bridget will still lift up my shirt in public and rub my stomach and boobs..with no hesitation. She is almost 4 1/2 yrs old..and I don't know how to get her to stop in public. LOL

    My boys are obsessed too!

The other day Dh and I were at the mall with the boys and walked through Victoria's Secret. We didn't stay long b/c the boys kept running to the stuffed doggies yelling Dog. Then they would run to half dressed manequins and yell Boobies and then say Mama and point!

I guess boys are born to love boobies no matter what age :)
