    CONGRATULATIONS on your babies!!!!

You should ask your dr what is safe for you to do - I imagine some very light exercises would be ok - but since you are feeling lightheaded when up and about you should be very careful. Unless the prenatal videos are directed at mothers of multiples I would avoid them - but talk to your dr.!!

I would ask your doctor about the exercise. Mine okay'd water aerobics, walking, and prenatal yoga, until I ended up on bedrest with an emergency cerclage at 16 weeks.

Hello and congrats!!! I am just about 16w and I still run about 3x's a week. Before I got pg I was running 2 miles and now I cut it down to like a mile and a half. My Dr. said as long as I feel okay I can continue to do it. I will say that I have a feeling I will start walking soon just b/c the pressure gets a little uncomfortable. But I never push myself to exertion and I stop and walk a little if I get too out of breath.

i am 31 wks and currently in the hospital, i was also here for a few days at 27 weeks, everyone including my doctors told me to go ahead with my normal routine... as long as it wasnt hiking up mountains or anythig... but anyways that is what got me here. i would ask my doctor but really my doc told me to go ahad and walk and get excersize continue with shopping and groceries and laundry... i went into labor and hagve been on bedrest and now i am stuck in this hospital until i deliver becuase i thought it was ok to continue my normal routines... i am a smaller person also. 5 ft 2 and 125 at beginning of pregnancy.. my personal opinion.. maybe slow way down at 4 to 5 months or so.

I tried jogging after the first trimester (with MD's okay) but a 2 mile loop felt like 10 miles, I was so short of breath and exhausted with exercise that I gave it up. I figured you're only pregnant once in your life with twins (hopefully :)
towards the end just walking up the stairs was exercise for me!!!

I have been exercising for 25 years in some shape or form. I have been using the Crossfit method (www.crossfit.com) for 2 years now and I am still going strong. During my 9w appt. my Dr. told me that I would do more harm than good to stop. My bp has consistently been 104/60 with a heart rate of 65. The best advice that I received was if it hurts, stop. I do not run anymore, I do the elytical. I still do sit-ups even though they are a little more difficult, but I get through them.

Exercise will only make your delievery better on you. Plus, the added bonus of losing weight a bit faster.

    Good luck,
    Jenn

I'm not and I can't imagine doing it right now, I'm so exhausted, tired and swollen that I'd probably fall over! :p

I have 2 kids to chase after I figure I get enough exercise in! :D

My doctor said absolutely no excersise. No prenatal yoga, no walking or swimming for exercise. i was a little bummed because I wanted to take the prenatal yoga class. And I love to walk.

I loved, loved, loved my prenatal yoga until I had to go on bed rest at 22 weeks. My Dr. said it was ok, but to listen to my body and stop if I felt it was too much. There is also a prenatal water exercise class where I live called Tsunami Mommies, but I didn't like the idea of being submerged in all that chlorinated water. Just my own hang up though I bet that feeling of weightlessness would feel excellent (especially when your tummy gets big and heavy. Always best to ask Doc before starting any new routine!

I would definitely check with your OB about that. I omitted exercise (not that I really did that much anyway) when getting pg this time. When I found out we were carrying two babies, I almost stopped breathing :) Really, I was scared to do anything and still am bc of the complications I had with DD. I haven't even asked if I can exercise bc I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it, especially with two of them now. I already have shortness of breath, a resting heart rate of 95-100, and "pressure," that I am too afraid to chance any additional exertion. I figure if I put myself on modified bedrest that it will buy me more time in the end.

I was running 6 mi/day when I got pregnant and slowed down my 1st trimester since I felt so nauseous. Around 16 weeks, I went back to running, but only 3 mi/day. That stopped when I was 23 weeks and had to pee every time I took a step. Way too much bladder pressure. But talk to your OB and even if he/she says it's ok, tell them what specifically you're going to do. I specifically asked about doing ab work and told my OB said not on the floor as he didn't want me lying flat. When I mentioned I was planing to use a stability ball, then he thought that was a great idea.
