Are you going to have a glider/rocker in the nursery?

I read a post the other day and someone made the comment that she didn't think a glider would work too well when trying to feed 2 babies - there wouldn't be enough room. I had never even thought of that. What are you going to use? All these decisions :winking0009:

    hi there!

I am in the process of registering and unless you have a very large glider/rocker....feeding both babies at the same time on them won't work.
I am planning on getting the EZ2nurse pillow (specific pillow to tandem feed twins), and the dimensions of the pillow are as per the website:

The nursing pillow measures 25" across (side-to-side) by 22" deep (front-to-back) and is 7" thick (on the outside perimeter) with an angle-cut from the outside perimeter to the inside perimeter of 5”. The detachable back pillow measures 11" x 4" x 11".

So, I think I'll probably will have a love seat in the nursery for the feedings. you have to think about logistics too, you have to sit and strap on that pillow, at the same time, you have to have both babies located safely next to you, so you can add one after the other on the pillow and then feed both.
if you don't use that specific pillow and only feed one baby at the time, the normal glider will work.

I know some gals that use the ez2nurse pillow either on the floor or in the bed...which I don't like....

I do get also 2 bobby pillows anyway, for separate feedings and when hubby and I feed each one a baby.

    hope that helps!

Well, my pumpkins have their own nurseries, so I bought a big recliner-like glider for their rooms. I also registered for the boppy pillow and my breast friend pillow.

We had been looking at those glider/rockers then realized with twins they wouldn't work. We got the EZ2 Nurse pillow which is huge and found a reallyb nice cushy rocker/recliner at a furniture store. More than enough room for using the big nursing pillow or holding two babies plus it's WAY more comfy that those ones at BRU!

we actually just ordered a glider/ottoman today. not for nursing, more for just calming down the babies (and myself hehe, i love rocking chairs) with the rocking.
i plan to feed them with my EZ-2-Nurse pillow on the bed or the sofa or love seat.

We have one in our nursery. It'll definitely come in handy to feed and to rock. We were planning on DH doing some bottle feedings on evenings/weekends and I can nurse one baby at a time while he is feeding. It's also good for fussiness. I'm sure we'll get lots of use out of it. We also have a twin nursing boppy.

My family got us a glider for a gift and I really like it! They didn't get a glider that's specifically for a nursery, they got it from a furniture store, so we are going to put it in our living room so I can rock the babies and watch TV. I like it because it doesn't look "babyish" so it's a piece of furniture we'll be able to enjoy after the babies are older.

And it is so soft and comfy everyone likes to sit in it!

My DD bought a glider and ottoman for her living room, it has a fabric that matches her other furniture. She never used it to nurse the babies though; she was much more comfortable on her bed with bed pillows around her or on the sofa with her nursing pillow. The glider is wonderful for cuddling or rocking one baby to sleep, it's definitely Grammy's favorite place in her house! :D

I plan on putting one of those overstuffed chairs with an ottoman in the nursery. I've never cared for the gliders that much, and I figured with the overstuffed chair it will be easier for me to sleep in if need be. I've already tried it out with my EZ-to Nurse pillow, and if should work perfect.

I really wanted a glider but my MIL bought us a rocking chair so we have that in the nursery. I had to go out and buy a cushion for it, but otherwise it works pretty well, a glider would be more comfy, but you can't beat the price of a free rocking chair! I have a boppy pillow and for now can easily fit both babies on it while sitting in the rocker and feed them together, I'm not sure how well it will work when they get a little bigger. It's easier to feed them during the day in a boppy sitting on the couch than the rocker, but the rocker is nice for night feedings. There are pics of how I manage to tandem bottle feed them on the couch on my blog!

I was so bummed when I realized that! I'd had my heart set on a glider. . . oh well! We put an armchair in the nursery.

I've been nursing with just a boppy for almost 10 months now; it's really been fine for us. Lots of ladies here like the EZ pillow, too. I just didn't want to spend the money and it seemed so bulky.

I have a daybed in there (it's been in there since it was just my photog studio/sewing room. ;) I'm going to put a BUNCH of great big pillows on it to lay back on and probably nurse there. If we end up buying a glider or rocker, that will probably be used primarily for calming babies. :)
