i'm wondering if we should let the girls dye easter eggs and just not worry about the mess or dyed fingers... that's half the fun, right? or else my mother bought some non-messy method of dying eggs that they just push a button for and it's no mess, but any fun?

Saw a quick snippet in a magazine that suggested putting the hard boiled egg inside of a whisk...perhaps worth a try, but no mention of how to get it out without making a mess :)

Last my year my two were 15 months when it was Easter and they were not into dying eggs but tonight they had a lot of fun! My DD got blue dye all over her hand and DH was able to get it off with soap and water. I think mine loved the idea of being able to put stickers on eggs the most. I just put them in old shirts and let them do their thing. Good luck and have fun!

We're going to dye eggs tonight, but the boys are pretty much going to just watch. I might let them play with some of the stickers that come with the egg dyeing kit, though! ;)

We didn't dye eggs at that age and my youngest won't be doing it this year. However we are doing it with the twins this year since I don't think they'll make too big of a mess since we do arts and crafts a lot.
I think that if I had had the energy last year to do it, I would have. So I say GO FOR IT!
