are these "false starts" or what?

ok, sorry if TMI, but TWICE now, i have had hard, consistent contrax about 5 minutes apart, each lasting between 30 and 45 seconds, and for a period of 4 - 5 hours.
the first time was friday night.
the second time was last night. these contrax are so hard that they wake me in my sleep, and my lower back feels like an alien is trying to burst out of it (it hurts really bad).
ok the TMI part- i have also had diarrhea accompany the contrax... over and over diarrhea. like not once, but many times during the time i'm having the contrax. it feels like i constantly have to "go".
so i've got the back pain, the contrax that are regular, and the runs. this goes on for almost 4 hours last night. then, they stop.
so what's this all about? did any of you do this?
and if so, how long until the "real deal"?

 

How far along are you? Did your Dr give you any guidelines as to how many contractions you are allowed to have before you call or go into L&D? My Dr always told me that if I had more than 6 in one hour I needed to go in.

I have no advice on the other problem, as I had the exact opposite problem because of all the iron I was on.

I would call your Dr if you are concerned. Its better to be safe than sorry. GL!! Keep us posted!

i am 34 weeks...

 

I was the queen of contractions got them all the time from 30 weeks on and they really hurt. The only way I knew I was in labor is because of my doctors appt. I told Dh during labor if I was at home I would not have come in because they felt like the ones I got all the time...So be careful! The only difference is they were happening so often I had no break in between..I am so grateful for that doctors appt. because I don't think I would have made it I was only in labor for 6 hours total.
