Are my twins the only 5 1/2 months old who only eat 5oz at a time?

Okay so after reading many post on here it seems like everyones babies are eating so much more than mine. They are 5 1/2 months and still only eat only 4-5oz at a time occasionally my DS will eat 6oz but thats very rare. They sleep all night and are growing but they just dont ever seem to be able to eat anymore per feeding. I offer more but they just dont want it. Am I the only one who's twins are still only eating that much per feeding at this age???

NO! My babies were stuck at 4-5 oz FOREVER! Until 7 months I think. Then they made a big jump, and by 10 months were drinking 8 oz.

My babies drank 5oz at that time, sometimes 6, 5xday. They drank 6 for the longest time until about 9 months, then it went to 7 oz 4xday and now they drink between 7 and 8oz 3xday.

I don't know, but mine are 4 months and still think 2 oz is a good meal! Of course, they want to eat again in 30 minutes. I never give them a bottle as I bf too, but when they're at the sitters or DH is watching them, they don't eat much.

Sounds about right to me! I actually thought babies who drank more than 6 oz before 8 months were overeating! That's my pedi told us anyway ;)

Can't say about my twins yet, but my older DD only drank 5-6 ozs at a time until she was almost a year. Her growth was fine; in fact, she's very tall at 95% for height. She just never wanted more than that at a time. Unless growth is an issue, don't worry about it. Good luck!

I used to think the same thing! My girls were drinking 6 oz. 4 times a day at that point (24, sometimes 26 per day). They are still at that same amount now that they are eating solids 3x a day on top of it.

Well..... this is the funny thing... mine eat like 7.5 oz (on good days) and they are almost 6 months old. The pediatrician said that's what they should be having. Soooooooooo, I tend to get stressed out when one of them starts fussing after like 4 oz! They were guzzling 4 at 2 months! It's such a hard time for all of us.

what a relief to read your post!! Mine are 10 days older than yours and only eat around 5 oz (when its a good feed!) and usually stop feeding at 4 oz sometimes even less!! Both of mine are growing and sleeping through the night. Our girls eat less than all of my friends babies who were born in the same month - a bit scary. And yeah, they are eating as much as they did at 3 months - I just thought it would increase too! Thanks so much for posting!

My twins have 2 7-8 oz bottles (last and first) but the others are more like 5 oz. My oldest, who was 9lbs+ at birth (and still 95%), only ate 4-5 oz, also when she was older. She never had a 6-8 oz bottle in her life. Mine all spit up as well, so I rather give smaller quantities a little more frequently. They have 5 bottles now (soon one will be replaced for breakfast).

Our girls usually eat 3-5oz when I give them a bottle. The mostly nurse and the are what I call snackers (i.e. they nurse like every hour!), so I think they just have tiny tummies. As long as they are growing well I wouldn't worry about it!

At 5 months my little ones were eating 5-6 oz per feeding. Mine have always been little eaters/drinkers. However, they have done a great job gaining weight and growing.
