Are my babies too small to CD?

We'd like to CD, but I keep thinking the babies are too small right now. Annelise is 6 pounds, 4 ounces and Karina is 6 pounds, 10 ounces. Anyone have experience cloth diapering babies at those weights? Advice on which kind to use with little bottoms?

 

Not at all. They would fit into newborn sized CDs. We used infant sized prefolds and newborn sized covers (we used bummi super whisper wraps with snaps). You can buy them lots of places like Green Mountain, Cotton Babies and clothdiaper.com.

 

I think as long as your newborn size covers they will stay on fine.

 

The boys were a bit small for the one-size BumGenius we had, so I got the BumGenius AIO extra smalls and they were perfect. I still have about 6 left that I want to sell, PM me if you are interested.

 

Thirsties covers come pretty small. So do Prowraps, they have a Preemie size.

 

nope, not too small! I've been CD'ing both boys since we left the hospital, and they were smaller than that the first week!

 

DS came home from the NICU weighing less than 5 lbs, and we CDed him just fine. We started both babies out with infant size prefolds and NB size Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. It looks a little funny when they're that tiny, but he didn't seem uncomfortable in the least.
