Are most boys this way?

My son (only boy out of our 4 children) learned to walk at 11 months. However, he only walked briefly and since then it has been a constant RUN.
He could be traveling 3 feet and has to try to run there. I don't mind so much, and it is a cute little run, it's just that my heart stays in my throat since he is still a bit clumsy and does fall. Our floors downstairs (where the main play area is) consist of hard woods and tile only, with the exception of a couple area rugs.
I have been saying "walk" and when/if he does, I praise him.

I am just wondering if this is how your boys are, and if maybe he is just testing his little body temporarily.

I can offer you no hope. :icon_biggrin: Can't speak for all boys but mine moves at top speed until he passes out. He just turned two and appears to be getting faster instead of slower. The upside is that he is not clumsy. He started walking around 10 months and I swear, running at 11 months. Now, if I can just keep him from colliding with his sister, life would be good.

When Martin learned to run, that's all he did!! It was so funny and cute! I really loved it! I am glad that he's reverted to being able to do both, because he is less likely to dart into traffic or something now.

    It sounds normal to me!

Two little running boys at my house too!. Getting close to three, they do walk at times, but really like to run! There daddy is a runner, so it's only their mommy who says, "slow down!"

We haven't slowed down for a second either. My sister has a 15-mo girl, and I try not to compare but she seems to have it so easy compared to my little Energizer bunnies! I wouldn't trade their insatiable curiosity for anything (oh, okay, maybe for 15-minutes to drink my morning tea in peace)

Yes, my daughter, his twin, is so much easier in that way. Slow and steady. I guess it adds some variety around here.

Ditto here! Alex walked for about 2 days and then started to run. He's now 3 and hasn't stopped since. It is exhausting at times. A woman at the local pool commented that winter in my house must be rough ;)
