Are boys really harder to potty train than girls?

I've always heard that girls are harder to potty train than girls. DD is doing really well with pt and DS has no interest whatsoever. I am just wondering what those of you who have b/g twins have experienced.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure but I have B/B twins and have introduced the potty in Sept. of last year, stopped near the holidays because we were getting nowhere. I have had two potties in my living room right in their play area since around March/April and neither has peed or popped in it not once. My son sits on it more regularly now but nothing yet at all. We have Potty Power, Potty books, Potty Elmo, Potty Elmo DVD..you get the point and my friend has a daughter that is a day older than my boys and she is mostly potty trained.

All the girls around my boys age were trained way before my sons. J is done, P has barely a desire....UGH!

My older son was hard .. my dd's were very easy. I expected my twin boys to be hard, but as it turned out they did very well. They were out of diapers just before they turned 3. It could just be one of those "individual" things .. each child is different and learns at their own pace ?
But I know I've heard MANY people comment on how much easier it is for girls.

So far my children have been the opposite. My ds1 was trained before he was 3. My dd1 was 4. I'm not sure what her problem was, but alot of it seemed to be fear and motivation. DD2 is in the process, but is almost 4. I don't get why it's taken my girls so long. They do have a different dad then my first son. And we have been super busy it's hard to remember to get them to the bathroom, but they still don't seem to know when they need to pee. Oh well no one but us has to pay for the diapers :)

I just started training the twins yesterday.
My dd was very easy to train. She basically did it herself.

Ds was a nightmare and about 8 months later than dd.

Each kid is different and trains in their own time. My 1st DD was easy to train and did so at 26 months. # 2 took the longest at 2.5 years and he night trained after age 3. #3 DS trained himself at 26 months and was by far the easiest. Right now with the twins one is ready at 27 months and the other has never even peed in the potty.

Each kid has their own personality and readiness. it has nothing to do with gender.
