So we got an aquadoodle for Christmas and it seems like a really fun toy. However, my boys favorite thing to do is drink the water out of the markers and take the marker tops off!! LOL, I guess it entertains them at least [IMG] So, anyone else??

We don't have one of those yet for that exact reason. I'm sure they would drive me nuts asking me to put more water in it.

I just gave my 4 year old cousin a Thomas the Train one. He loved it. It came with the pen to draw with, and another to make a track with. Then there was also a little Thomas engine that would follow the track you drew on the mat and play the song from the show. He loved it.

My 17 month old girls on the other hand wanted to walk around with the pens in their mouths or just stand on the aquadoodle mat. In fact Alexandra was standing on the mat when she sneezed and left lots of little blue spots on the mat. All the adults were laughing and my 4yo cousin just had no idea. LOL!!!

I got those little mini-travel sized aquadoodle mats for our last big trip out of town and found the same thing--they marked on the mats and chewed on the pens. So, I think I will hold off on the full size mat until next year [IMG]

We have a total of 4 of them now. The twins got them for Christmas. Ariana got the Little Mermaid one and Andrew got the Thomas one. They love them but they just color the whole mat and make it blue! I have to hang it to dry so they can use it again! Mine haven't tried drinking the pens yet but I'm sure they will!

Jack and Ally got one to share for Christmas. Since it only comes with one pen, and I knew that would just cause a fight, I didn't even get it out. I took a coffee cup and put about 1/2 inch of water in the bottom and gave the kids Qtips and paintbrushes to draw with.

I got them the Aquadoodle mat and the travel size Thomas and Elmo mats for Christmas. They LOVE them! They haven't figured out how to open the pens yet, so I'm happy about that. I find they do (especially Paige) try to use the marker on a few other things. I think its actually a great tool to teach them not to mark on things they shouldn't since its just water. They listen pretty well so far. Keeping fingers crossed on this one.

Thanks for the info. I don't believe I'll get one then. They boys have eaten enough pens and markers and crayons [IMG]

My DD does suck the water, or hold it on the mat until all the water soaks in and bleeds a big giant circle on the mat. We play with it very rarely for this reason. We have 2, but they'll be going in the yard sale pile in the storage space very soon [IMG]

we bought this for the girls last year and they still absolutely love it. esspecially now that they are doing better with learning their letters and numbers and writing their letters and numbers, it is a great tool, and if they "write" on the floor or walls it is only water!!!

Mine used to take theirs into the bathtub so they could fill it up & drink it themselves.

We didn't do the aquadoodle, but we did do the magnadoodle, and they loved it. Once I showed them how the slide it back and forth to erase it , they've been hooked every since. They love to take it in the car, and so do I. It keeps them quite and amused.
