Natasha Leigh came in at 153 pm at 4 lbs 3 ounces and 15.5 inches long with Apgars of 9 and 9!!
Hayden Levi cam in at 153 pm at 4lbs 9 ounces and 17 inches long with Apgars of 8 and 9, only needed a bit of blow by oxygen just at delivery.

Well the story is this, I just hung up the phone with MIL who was running late to get Lilly for my 915 appointment at 850 on tuesday am, I had to pee as it had only been about 10 minutes since I last visited the toilet. Stood up and had a major contraction, I had been having them every 30 mins since noon the day before and thought nothing of them or the horrible back labor I had been having since the thurs before! As I am waddling to the toilet I feel what I think is my bladder let go (thanks go to the fine folks who make Poise pads) I then pull down to see blood and a plug there. The fluid just won't stop comming so I deduct this was my water breaking. I happened to have my cell phone in my back pocket, and called the midwife.. Told her I called hubby and he was on his way home like a bat out of ****.
She said to look and check about how much fluid it was, I stand to find there is alot of blood, off to plan B-no home laboring head to ER asap!
Get to ER after a very bittersweet parting with Lilly, this was my last time to love on her as my only baby~sniff sniff.

Got to ER, we were pre registered so they just had to band me and off we went upstairs. Got in and hung out on the toilet in the exam room as the fluid was comming out quite well! My doc was there with in 10 mins and joked that he went ahead and cancelled my 915 for the day. We get on the external monitors and see the contrax are real and babies are doing great, then we did a quickie sono and saw both were head down. He then checks me and sees that I was dialated at a 1 and 20% effaced. Went to put in the internal monitor and said this bag isn't broken so broke the water so we could monitor Tasha. The bag busted everywhere and soaked his pants and his underpants :rotflmbo: He says you are here to stay and places the monitor probe in which hurt like all holy ****.

Off to our room were he tells me I will be NPO until 12 when we check again and see how I progress. I kept sipping my water. We had not done my group B test yet so they hung my first bag of antibiotic for coverage and did the swab then.
Contrax were comming every 3-5 min and I was actually enjoying them and they weren't so bad. When you have never had labor and real contrax before and are dying to have your VBAC you can actually enjoy contractions!! They started getting more intense and I kept sipping my water.
Noon comes and doc checks, now I am at 1 1/2 cm dialated and 50% effaced, my cervix was slow but working and the rate of my contrax just wasn't matching up for some reason as I was having that "transition feeling". As he pulls back from the check here comes more blood, very dark like a merlot he says. This is not good he says and apologies and is very gentle with me about us now having to move on to a section. I had made peace with this as an option awhile ago so I was ok, and greatful for the labor I had been able to have. My husband, mom and Doula were absolutely the most valuable things to me at this time. Love them so much! :love0028: He said it wasn't a big rush but wanted to go into OR at 1pm and take care of the babies and me just incase things got ugly. Good call!!

We got to OR and my spinal went in, my nurse and anestheologist were top notch! We get Daddy in and get underway. He opens and says very almost dissappointed that my uterus was very severely stretched and translucent thin. He got Natasha out and then in the same minute got Hayden. They are born at the exact same time and all is great with them. Lots of blood in my uterus. Hayden's first poo a bit later showed that he had ingested some bloodly fluid. Later we would find this was my blood. He came to me in recovery and nursed for 45 minutes!!! Went right on like a pro and did great, this is what helped him pass that first poo so fast. OK, back tracking now. We got to the room and Natasha came in right away and got her turn to nurse, she also did wonderful for about 20 minutes!! I was so estatic I felt no pain, the nurse said it was the DuraMorph they added to my bag just before I left the OR. A word of warning, the DuraMorph made me itchie and sweaty and very nauseated. Extremely nauseated! I did not stop with the vomiting until 12 hours post op. I do not like DuraMorph!
Nursing was going very nicely and we were all pleased. The kids were in the isolettes for temp control for the first 24 hours per hospital protocol for 35 weekers. Hayden was out of his in about 26 hours after birth, Natasha a day longer. They got to come out to nurse and hang out with mom and dad a few hours at a time so that was great.

To be continued... babies are going home soon!!!

Ok here is the rest of the story......

We had some setbacks, Natasha had jaundice and some pretty bad weight loss, went down to 3 lbs 9 ounces. Hayden also went down to 3 lb 15 ounces. So we began the feeding frenzie. Bump feeds up, used some dropper feeds and then worked up to finger then supplement at the breast then to a piggyback bottle ontop of nursing.
There were 3 days of no sleep at all for me, between the pain of the incision, gas pains and sore nipples I was ready to lose it. Well, I did. I lost it on Sat am when I found out that I had to be discharged before 12 midnight but the kids weren't going anywhere. On Friday we stepped up the feeding to 2 hours with pumping, oh man we needed to sync these kids up so we could tandem some. Friday night no sleep at all, and then find out on Sat am that I am being evicted, my docs tried every damned thing they could to get me 1 more day to no avail. I cried and cried and just sobbed in my bed yesterday. Had a major meeting with the Pedi, who happens to be a dear friend and was fighting for the kids just as hard as I was. The choice was made to add some Human Milk fortifier to my milk. Give after or with feeds with tube. Natasha gained 2 ounces between noon and 8 pm!! As of 10 pm sat night Hayden was 4.03 and Natasha was 3.12, this let us know that Tasha was a hard working baby! and this gave me the assurance to know that my girl was gonna be comming home. I am pretending not to know how close she was to an NG tube or even a trip to the NICU at the hospital that our insurance would pay nothing for.
Sat night my doula, my friend and I can honestly say the other mother of my kids stayed at the hospital while they got a room for me at their in hospital hotel thingie. Tessa is the best, my hero and the hero of my kids. She fed and loved and gave to my kids just like they were hers. I got a few hours of sleep and I loved it!
Sunday morning, Feed feed feed, pump pump pump. My breasts have been majorly engourged since about thurs/friday. I have been having to pump off so they can latch, then feed them, pump off the after feeds. I am pumping now between 4.5-6 ounces of milk after feeding. This put some wind in my sails so to speak.
When the pedi came to the nursery at 730/8 in the am, saw our sweet Natasha's weight she said that she had a question for me.....
How warm can you keep your house? Babies are going home!
So then, frantically call hubby. "Honey, are you guys ready for church?", he says "Working on it" I said, "You need to come to the hospital, our kids are comming home!" At this point I cry.
    Carseat challange passed
Waited forever for the picture lady to come and then we were on our way out!
I started crying as the kids and I were being wheeled out to the parking deck. It was real now, I have 3 kids, we are going home. Lilly was at the hospital with us, our family left that hospital together and I have never felt so strongly the hands of God on my family than at that moment.
See, He saved me when I was bleeding and kept me from a full abruption.
He protected my babies and gave my little Tasha the fight she needed to pull through.
He loved me enough to give me this wonderful family.

Time to go, my little miracle of a girl is asking for her milk.
I am in love with my children. All of them!
