So, I had an appointment today and basically have been told that my due date will remain August 19th..Not the 11th like I was once told, and not the 17th, like I was told once before... Now, 2 more days tacked on. That makes me 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant instead of 35 weeks 3 days. I am bummed but at the same time, I know he'll come when he is ready regardless of due dates.

On top of that though, the Doctor told me that I look bigger than 34 weeks...I was sort of insulted. I feel like I am carrying the baby well and sure, if you stare at my naked belly, it does seem large... but I don't think I look bigger than 34 weeks - at least I didn't think that. Now I have a complex! :p I don't want to look bigger than I am supposed to.. who does.. and this after not looking pregnant until 6 months along... CRAZINESS!! Just needed to get that off my shoulders. Thanks for listening :)

My clinic never changes the due date, even if the baby measures bigger. Evan measured a week ahead of schedule since my 19 week u/s. Doctors have no clue what not to say to pregnant women!! :shok: Glad you had a good appt.

Let it roll right off of you. Your baby is due on the day he comes, it's actually better to be later, that way they don't talk induction as soon (not that induction is always bad or anything). There is such a wide variation in how big women get.. As long as you are eating well and gaining the right amount of weight, it doesn't matter how big you look.. I'm sure you look beautiful. Dr's have no idea sometimes about how to treat their pregnant patients.

Awe, I'm sorry that you are feeling that way. I'm sure yo ulook wonderful!! I hate when people get told they look big/small. It's a healthy baby regardless and no matter what, it's YOUR baby and everyone carries them differently.

I never had my due date changed either and I measured 2 weeks BEHIND my entire pregnancy with Olivia.

You would think doctor's of all people would know what not to say to a pregnant woman.

No kidding. I had a few appointments not with my regular OB where they liked to mention I looked bigger and measured bigger than I was. They also like to remind me of the extra skin and weight I was carrying too. One Dr even giggled it I guess you would say. UH DUH I see myself naked everyday dont ya think I know what I look like. We dont need their "expertiece" to remind us of it, or tell us what we are already feeling about our body. I am sorry your DR was so insencitive. I hope the next few weeks go by fast for you and you are able to hold you little guy soon.!

    Thanks for the support everyone!

I too have some extra skin hanging out under my baby bumb (which you can feel/see when I bend over mostly) but I am totally uncomfortable about it and to be told "I look bigger than I am measuring" just ticked me off... I am getting over it though, thanks to all of your nice comments. And it's true, my baby will make his grand appearance when he is ready.. be it August 19th...August 1st... August 30th!! Only God knows when really.... I just get to hang out an wait - growing bigger every day :)
