applesauce

OK so our boys are almost 8 months, 7 months adjusted and are sitting up on their own great. They are eating 3 solid meals a day and love applesauce! Is it OK to buy a jar of unsweetened applesauce instead of the small 2 pack containers? I guess I am thinking it will save a little money. I tried to make my own food but do not have a love for cooking so I find it hard to spend any spare time in the kitchen. Anyways, has anyone done that with applesauce?

 

I buy generic unsweetened organic applesauce in the big jar. I never saw any reason to buy special baby applesauce and my boys love it!

 

I buy Mott's Natural (unsweetened) applesauce. That's what the baby food website recommended. As long as the only thing in it is water, apples, and I think citric acid is okay, too. Anyway, it's just the natural applesauce though.

I get the costco unsweetened organic ones in the big jars. I fill a smaller conainer with applesauce [keep the large one in the fridge] and mix it with some cinnamon. I use this for their oatmeal

 

I buy the Mott's Unsweetened and not only is it easier than making your own, it's soooooo much cheaper. I get two big jars for $4, I would have needed like $20 worth of apples to make that much sauce.
