Anyone wish they hadn't wasted a good name on a pet?

Does anyone else wish they hadn't wasted a good name on a pet? I guess I just didn't think about that when naming my dogs 8-10 years ago. Now I really wish I hadn't named one of my dogs Zoe. That could have been a really cute name if we have a little girl. Fortunately, I have no desire to use the names of either of our other dogs: Fezzik or Ripoff. :lol:

 

My DH's aunt loved the name Tiffany so much she named her horse and her daughter Tiffany. I guess its a matter of perosnal preference. I myself would never name my child after any of my animals, as their names are dammit, axel, fugly and Gizmo...(I gave DH animal naming rights so I can name the kids )

I love the name Graciela, and if we had used it I would have called her Grace. But the common Mexican nickname for Graciela is Chela, and I named my dog Chela 4 years before the girls were born. I did not name her Graciela or even think about that when I named her Chela, but everyone around us would have thought I had named her after the dog so I just couldn't use Graciela.

 

I have a friend that named her daughter Sydney - she also has a much older dog named sydney -
she just says baby sydney or sydney dog when talking about them!

 

My grandma named her dog Sophie and that was one of the names that I loved so I was really bummed about that. I guess it wouldn't really matter if you really liked the name.

 

Our family dog growing up was named Lucy - and now that's one of the names DH wants for the girls! Then a few weeks ago my mom said to me that she loved the name Molly for a girl.......I said that obviously I liked it too and that's why we have a dog named Molly!

 

We just got a puppy and named her Zsa-Zsa!! I LOVE that name but would never use it for a human baby! LOL!

The practical part about it is that you only have to call the name once, and both will answer...
