I was thinking of a getting a double carrier for the girls. The Double Blessings website has one that looks like it may be good. Anyone have any opinions on it? I would hate to spend $100 if it's not a good or practical product. Thanks for any input!

The Maximom twin carrier is great! I have used it several times. What I like is that you can put the kid's in the carrier part before attaching to the straps--something you can't do with a Baby Bjorn. This also allows you to put the carrier on the baby and then put them in their car seat--that way when you get to your destination, all you have to do is clip the babies on the front of you. The only challenge I have found is that it can be hard your back. GL!

I have a hard time caring on one. It is a killer on my back. I think it depends upon your frame. I'm only 5'1 and have a small frame so one alone kills my back. I would check out the return policy.

I could not imagine using one of these, but my back hurt so much until at least 6 weeks postpartum that I could barely carry one baby. And by the time my back started feeling better, they weighed 12 lbs each!

I had the maximom and had to return it. I found it very difficult to put both babies in it and then put it on me.

I love the Maximom! I'm 5'8" and medium build. I don't feel much strain on my back, but I've never had back issues. I have arm issues, however, and this carrier helps me "carry" my babies where my arm is lacking. I just picked up dh at the airport wearing both babies in the carrier and he loved it. We held up a "Daddy" sign. :) It also allowed me to go to the airport without a stroller, which meant there was room in the trunk for luggage.

Dh likes the Maximom, too, because when we go out as a whole family he can wear one of the babies and I wear the other.

Thanks ladies! I do have a somewhat small frame at 5'2", but I'm not exactly thin and delicate. I'm gonna look into the maximom perhaps.

The maximom sounds fun! I have one, I forget which, and I've gone for a few walks and things with it. I liked it but it didn't free up my hands for house work like I thought it would. My hands were free, but I couldn't reach anything haha! I'm only 5'1. The best thing was when I put it on and could rock both at the same time, then recline back and take a nap myself without worrying about them rolling off me and I have the sue of my arms.

The only thing you can do is get it and try it to see what you think. I need to get mine back out and see how we like it now that their heads are more stable.

Napping with it on, what a clever idea!

I just had two different sling carriers (a Maya wrap and a New Native). This way DH and I could each carry one, or I could carry both of them - one in each sling and criss-crossed. It only worked well when they were really little, but I think that's the case with two babies no matter what carrier you have. The Maya Wrap also came with instructions on using it to carry twins just using one, but I never tried it.

I figured the sling would only work while they're smaller. I was tempted to buy one and try it out, but have a feeling they won't like it.
