Anyone use a Baby B'Air for flights?

Since our flight is overnight and Contintental requires laps for babies under 2, I was considering this http://www.securebaby.com/air_travel_safety_all.html

I don't know. I wish I had booked at least one seat for them. But the price is not cheap and now the flight is all booked up. ANyway, any thoughts?

I used this with my oldest. Not all airlines allow it to be used during take off or landing. If you are worried about turbulence, invest in a baby carrier instead.

Baby carriers are not allowed, at least I wasn't allowed to use one. I had one of the twins in the Bjorn, and United told me you physically have to hold them. It's weird since the EU carriers have belt that connects to the adult belt that buckles your child in, but American airliners don't have it. If it's FAA approved you should be allowed to use it (take the manual or something). Car seats are allowed, if FAA approved, but you won't have seats. I always advice to get a seat for a young child, even though it's expensive, but on long flights (and we've done a lot of transatlantics) it's so worth it.

Haven't tried it yet but I just got one for Dax for $8 on Ebay. I've known two people who liked them.

We haven't even gone yet and I know already that I'm going to be wishing I got the extra seats....it was a last minute purchase.

It's only FAA approved while in cruise. You would have to put it away or detach it on Taxi and Take off. (Flight Attendants are pretty strict....I used to be one  )

    Just something to think about.

    Good Luck on the flight!

Consider bringing one car seat to the gate - if there's an empty seat, they'll usually let you have it (if not, you can gate check the car seat). Also, some larger planes have some kind of infant carrier in the bulkhead section (I've never used one, so I can't be more specific - but you might want to check just in case).

    Best,

I have used them (for a flight to Australia). When you need them is during take off and landing, that's the most dangerous time. I doubt whether you will be able to keep them in them for the whole flight. Half the flight attendants don't know what they are and they sort of look like a little jacket so just act cool. I felt better with them on, much safer. I got mine on Ebay too, saved a bit of money. Good luck with the flight.
