Anyone try Phil and Teds double stroller for twins?

I've been drooling over the Phil and Teds stroller -- a couple of my girlfriends had them with two singletons and raved about them. Has anyone used it for twins? I was thinking maybe at about 4 months (with padding) for walking only, and then maybe for rollerblading when they are sitting up well?

Eleanor and Ethan have a Phil and Teds stroller. Honestly I'm not sure you could put a 4 month old in the toddler seat even with padding (maybe at 6 months) but then I've never tried it. The base of the toddler seat is quite small and straight (the child needs to sit upright, there's really no recline) so I think a little baby would probably end up slumped down a lot.

I also have to say that I do not care for the Phil & Teds anyway, of all the strollers I've used it's one of my least favourites. Have you looked into SBS double jogging strollers? They are more expensive (although some are not that much more than the P&T) but it sounds like it might be worth it for you, as both seats can recline you could use it straight away.

I have it, love it and can't say enough good things about it
    I have the vibe.

From birth, I swaddled them and put them in the bassinet together

Next stage, I put one reclined in the main seat and wore the other

At 2months (mine had great head control early), I put one in each seat

They love it. I love it. You can def recline the toddler seat enough for a 4m old.

Imagine being able to navigate the aisles at baby gap, push through 5 inches of fresh snow, jog, hike, etc all with one stroller!!!! You will fit through all doorways and you won't take up an entire sidewalk

Yes.... It's the best stroller ever ;)

I have lots of pix of mine in the stroller at all stages but I can't post from my iPhone. I should blog about this topic and post the link here... I'll let you know when I do.

I've wondered about this too...I like the idea of it, but I'm not sure about things like trips to the zoo ect-I feel like only one twin could really see.

It's my understanding that they are not recommended for twins as they are designed for the heavier child to be in the front seat with the baby underneath for stability. I'm from NZ where they are designed and made and there are always heaps on our auction sites as people get rid of them because they can't get one child to go underneath once they can make there desires made! They do have a side by side model which at least here is the narrowest on the market for a jogging stroller.

^^ i dunno... i know quite a few people with this stroller and their kids fight over the back seat. its extremely popular where i live

sure i'd always put the heavier kid in the front, but its not at all unstable with my twins who weigh the same.

i swear P&T isn't paying me :) i think anyone interested in this stroller should check it out.

i do agree that a SBS is better for something like the zoo, but even still my twins both get quite a good scene no matter where they sit on any particular day. if i want them to see ducks in a pond, i turn the stroller sideways.. they look to the side, problem solved!
