Am I the only one who still has a mobile in thier kids cribs???? I am starting to freak out about what we will do when they switch to big kid beds. I am wondering if we should take them down sometime. But then again we will need to take away the paci's at some point and I don't want to do too much and alter how they sleep, lol.

I took Bea's out around 7 months because she kept pulling it down. Ainsley's.. I don't remember! Probably when she started messing with it. I would go ahead and take it out, do they still need it to go to sleep or anything? You could always put some other source of music on.

Nope, you are not the only one. My girls still love theirs. We have the aquarium one and the bird one that has a projector show on the ceiling. They still love them and often put them on as they fall asleep. I guess it's comforting to them so I see no need in taking it away at this time.

We took ours down at ~10months. Joe had a really hard (translation: angry) time going to sleep that day and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I went in after nap and found Joe completely passed out and his mobile broken and strewn about the crib in half a dozen pieces. Aparently he decided to wrestle with his mobile for pre-nap entertainment.

Nick's came down the same day.

I just took one down today. I had a vision that Christopher would get tangled in it and it virtually served no purpose beside looking cute. My boys never cared to look at them. I even had a really neat black and white one when the boys first went in a crib at about 6 months---it did nothing for them!! Strange!

I still have ours in...in fact I just replaced the batteries the other day (4D in each  !)

Baylinn's is the bird one attached to the side of her crib and projects on the ceiling. I have trouble getting it on and off, so I doubt that she could. She turns it off and on herself....usually when her sister is crying - I think she does it to try to calm herr down (or drown her out!)

Breena's is a more traditional looking one with hanging fish, though it projects on the ceiling too. She doesn't mess with it, so I've left it there. It does stand up alone though, so if I had to take it down I would just put it on the dresser.

Took the mobiles down around one year but still have the crib music/aquarium thing that attaches to the side of the crib. Don't even know why I had the mobiles...the boys were totally not interested but they love their aquarium thing.

My twins love their crib mobile. We had them all the way until 17 months. My DH had to tell me that we need to remove it. Why? Because my DS kept pushing his mobile in the middle of the night a few times. My DH can't sleep and get arouse by hearing it from our tv monitor. On the other hand my daughter rarely push the button. She doesn't care for it as long as she got her 'pinky monkey'.

We do now have a musical turning mobile that sit on the dresser. But guess what? My DS has long arms and he is able to turn the knob but he doesn't get up in the middle of the night anymore. It is when they go to bed time when he want to listen for more before falling asleep. My DD is always a fast sleeper, thank goodness!

Just before they turned a year, they both busted their mobiles during a nap (different days, but within two weeks of each other). Snapped them right off, so I can't even pass them down to someone!

We still have the aquariums in their cribs, but I have not replaced the batteries in a week or so and they don't seem to miss them, so I think they will go soon.

We still have ours. I believe we have the EXACT same ones as "sunshinetwins'" DD's. :) Our DD and DS sleep in their big beds, but their cribs are still in their rooms. They have been sleeping in their big beds for 3-4 months now...we just haven't gotten around to dissembling their cribs. :p Their mobiles are still attached to their cribs so it's not even near their beds, but I think they still like the music. I think they would be ok without it because they have taken naps and gone to bed at other places without the mobiles and it wasn't a problem. However, if we "accidentally" forget to turn them on when they sleep in their rooms...they quickly remind us. I would imagine we would take them down in another month or so.
