Would a 4yo be scared? My kids scare easily so I'm thinking I'll just buy the dvd...

I haven't seen it, but my Dad took my three girls (ages 14 and 6) and all of them LOVED it!

I won't be much help. :D There was a scary part, and it seemed to go on & on. One of my 5 1/2 yr olds was sitting next to me, squeezing my hand, turning her face into my shoulder. The other climbed in my lap with her back to the screen - but she did keep sneaking peeks. Still - it was a really cute movie & all three of my giorls loved it & want to go back & have been begging to buy the DVD. It is rated PG - they haven't watched many other PG's yet. Nothing actually bad happens...

We just saw it today. Both were scared at moments, but overall they liked it and we didn't have too much trouble. Jack is my scaredy cat. Anna is generally fine. Even Anna was a little stressed at points. One thing we did is read the book to them beforehand so they knew what to expect.

We haven't gone yet because my little guys scare easy and I'm pretty sure we'd end up with two scared ones.

I wouldn't suggest seeing it in the theater. Jazz at almost 7 was hiding her face a lot.

my two had no issues with it at 6 but Abby's a daredevil anyway...Ian gets a little "stressed" in that he'll sit in his seat and just say "ohgodohgodohgod" over and over but not really afraid...

I took Donevan, who is 4 and he loved it. He was glued to the screen. Didn't even fidget or ask to sit on my lap.

One of my girls was very afraid of it (scares easily) and the other one didn't like parts but didn't mind it. It did have some really cute and funny parts but *I* was even anxious during parts of it.

Towards the end there was a scary scene with bears. Because of that, my husband isn't about to let my boys watch it. Honestly, I too don't think they could handle it. One boy gets nightmares. The other would not want to see those scenes much, but he isn't the type to have nightmares over it.
