Hi ladies, I don't frequent these boards, but I have 2 1/2 year old twin girls and am expecting twins again in March. Anyone out there that can give me some pointers, or have had a similar experience, I would appreciate any insight/advice. TIA. -Michelle

Hey Michelle, you might also want to post in the Parents forum as well. Just thought it may be another way to get some responses. I still can't believe how truly blessed you are. 2 sets of twins back to back!!! Unbelievable. You and dh are serious baby makin' machines LOL

Soon you will have to change your title to CutiesXTwoXTwo LOL

    Hi, Congrats!

Just curious, is either set Identical?

We already know that fraternals "run" in some families. But identicals "running" in families is unique. I've gotten twice pregnant w/ IDs twice (see my sig), and I've talked w/ an expert who thinks I'd likely get preg w/ another set of ID. Being that we went thru TTTS, I'm so NOT going there again.

HUGE congrats to you and your fam! Very cool!

Wow! Congratulations! I would just say that since you've been through it all before, the second time around may just be a little easier! I know you'll have two more kids to take care of at the same time, but I bet you'll have a great system in place!

so interesting if they are both ID's since people say its a fluke but it does soom to happen mult times to some people. let us know if they are both ID. Someone really needs to study this.

Congrats cutiex2. I'm also in the group of two sets of identicals although we lost one to vanishing twin this time there were definitely two in the same sac again until our 12 week appointment. I'd love to see a study done. So with only three I don't have advice but I'm sure you'll do fine having gone through twins once it all seems to work itself out. Good luck.

I was going to post the exact same thing! congratulations. How blessed you and your man are!
I always used to say I'd have 20 sets of twins if they would all be guarenteed to be as good as the ones I have are. Some one in response said "Good night! That's 40 kids!" ......uh yeah! that's alot!

    Wow Congrats!
We're ttc right now and are wondering if we will end up with another set of twins. I will be watching responses.

    Thanks, Ladies...

Have a sono today...I am 11 weeks, 2 days.....a little nervous, hoping and praying that the vanishing twin thing didn't happen.....I found out we were having twins (with my first set, fraternal, naturally) when I was 7 weeks 3 days...At first they said my girls were ID since the membrane b/w the two sacs was so thin, and they were both girls, which we found out at 20 weeks) but then they determined that they were fraternal, since there were 2 placentas. This time we found out at 8 weeks 5 days (since my last period)....These babies are also fraternal, and in their own separate sac. I guess i just drop 2 eggs....there are fraternals on my Mother's side (her aunt)...I really would like a study to explain all the factors for conceiving twins, and conceiving again...I am sure it would be interesting.

In one respect, I know I have BTDT, but on the other hand, I will have two 3 year olds, and the infants....Nervous, is an understatement. Thanks for listening!

Congratulations! Be sure to check out the Expecting board.

I also wanted to point out that two placentas does NOT indicate they're fraternal. I have di/di identicals myself.

I second that your first set may be identical since identicals can have two sacs and two placentas (my sister & I did)!

Congratulations. IF I wouldn't have had the vanishing twin, I would have two sets right now. You're far enough along that you probably will carry yours to term.

There is a semi-retired Dr in Canada (formerly from sf bay area) doing research on twins, but I haven't heard from him in awhile. He's especially interested in people like me who get pregnant more than once with IDs.

good luck w/ your u/s. Keep us posted on your progress!

I have been pg with two sets of twins although we lost a twin from the 1st set early on in the pg. I'm pretty sure my 2nd set is ID even though they were di/di. My 1st set was di/di also.

Anyway, just wanted to say congrats. I love having twins and would feel blessed to have another...if I could talk DH into more kids!

two step kids, not twins. ID girls(same age as yours), and then look at my post in the Parents section - checking into fostering/adopting twin boys. If it happens lets be friends - at least the kind that can chat once every blue moon with our crazy lives!
