Anyone NOT have stretch marks?

Maybe I'm just wishfully thinking, but is it possible to carry twins, for say 35 weeks at least, without getting stretch marks?

I have had two singleton pregs and haven't gotten them, but I have no idea how huge I will get this time compared to the others! I am 14 weeks tomorrow.

I know it's a silly thing in the grand scheme of things, but I'm curious: Are they inevitable? Anyone not have/get them? Also tell me how tall you are...I hear that can make a difference.

Thanks for listening to my relatively silly question!

Its all in the genetics. I lucked out and got the good genes I guess b/c I didn't get any on my belly with DD and have managed to make it to 34wks with only 3 very small ones, 2 on one side and one on the other. I am 5'7" and don't look like I am pregnant with twins in most peoples opinions.

This is my first preg and I'm about 5'3" and started around 125 lbs. I made it to at least 33 weeks (when I was measuring 40 weeks!) with NO SIGN whatsoever, then, small ones started to appear around my belly button, good thing my tattoo is all strecthed out and hides most of them. They aren't that bad though and only two more weeks to go. BTW, I've gained a total of just over 40 pounds and its ALL BABIES (or atleast all in the belly [IMG] ) so it figures I'd have SOME marks!!! I wasn't too worried as my mom didn't get horrible stretch marks so I knew I wouldn't either. I also only use cocoa butter lotion after showers or baths and not two or three times a day like 'they' say you should to avoid them. Good luck! If you made it this far consider yourself lucky!

I made it to 31.6 weeks with just a few very small ones on my hips...can't even see them now! I think it is all in your genes though.Good Luck

I am 5'7" and got them with my first singleton pregnancy, mainly because I put on 50 pounds, went from 130-180...I guess my skin didn't like that. I didn't get anymore with my second, and am hoping that I don't get anymore at all with the twins, but that is wishful thinking.

It has to do with the collogen and elastin in your skin, some women can stretch super big and not get them at all. It is mainly genetics and good diet.

In my opinion, People with dry skin tend to get them more that people with oilier skin. But I just can to that conclusion on my own..

You made it this far, so maybe you won't get any, lucky girl!

I went from 95lbs pre-pregnancy to over 200lbs at delivery! I used cocoa butter stick, I used it for a scar on my face with great results. I thankfully ended up without a single stretch mark!! I do have to say that I would rather have them instead of the 3 inches of extra skin around my middle though! Enjoy your pregnancy!

I didn't get any strech marks. This is my first pregnancy and I carried to 34 weeks. My twins are 8 weeks old and still no marks have popped up so I think it is safe to say I won't get any. It is genetics but I figured since I was having twins that it was bound to happen but I guess not. Good luck!!

I'm wondering if I'll get them, too. I had none with my singleton and none with my last twin pregnancy (because of ttts, at 22 weeks I measured bigger than I did with my singleton at the end). So far I don't have any, but kind of expect them after a while. Honestly, I don't care...I would be proud to have stretch marks, knowing they are the marks of motherhood and a twin pregnancy. I am 5'6 and didn't get my first one until 32 weeks and i carried pretty small!!! I only gain 37 pounds and was all belly so maybe that is why I got them. O Well. I do plan on getting a tummy tuck as soon as I am finished having kids.!! Good luck. They are not that bad. My girls are 21 months and they have faded soooo much!!

I am 5'1" and carried them till almost 35 weeks. I have no stretch marks. Every few days I would use Shea Body Butter on my belly. I have always been terribe about moisturizing everyday and I still am, I was shocked I didn't get any.

Thanks everyone! I am feeling slightly encouraged! Yes, there are certainly bigger fish to fry, but it is nice to think I might escape this pregnancy stretch mark free! I'm 5'7" and seem to have good skin, so I shall slather on the cocoa butter and think happy thoughts! Thanks to all of you!

I'll post a pic when I'm nice and round!

No stretch marks here. My pre-pregnancy weight was 145 lbs and height 5'3, I gained a total of 40 lbs. carried to 34 weeks. The twins were my second pregnancy so things were already stretched out. I did use cocoa butter on my belly every day too.

    Good luck!

No stretch marks here. I was 38 when the girls were born. Carried them 36 weeks. The were both 6 pounders and I had gained about about 41 pounds.

    HTH!

I carried 39 weeks, gained 50 pounds, sported a 54" waist measurement (exactly double my norm), and this was my first pregnancy. I had no stretchmarks until after 32 weeks and the ones I do have are so low that a traditional bikini would easily cover them. Unfortunately, the skin hasn't sprung back so the bikini is on hold until after I get a tuck [IMG]

I believe it's all or mostly genetic. I am 5'6" or 5'7" and have none after 9 children. But neither my grandmother (9 children also), nor my sisters or mother have any stretch marks. They range from 5'2" to 5'10".

No stretchmarks here either. I gained 40 pounds, had two 7+ pounders and carried to 38 1/2 weeks. Some people's skin is more prone to them than others. Oh and I'm 5'5".

I believe it's in your genes also. I went 37 weeks with zero stretch marks. It was my 4th pregnancy, and I have not ever had any, and it's not due to lack of weight gain. I gained my fair share but fortunately no stretch marks.

I am 30 1/2 weeks and don't have any yet, didn't get them with my singleton pregnancy either. I know they say that creams don't really make a difference, but I believe I use the best cream ever! In case you're interested it's called Bug and Pickle Belly Cream and it's $20 CAN for a big jar. You can order it online from many different places and I'm sure there is a US distributor.

I'll just add too that I'm 5'10', so it does help to be taller in that department I think.

Height was no advantage for me! I am 6 feet tall. I used shea butter cream from B&B religiously. Even that did not help. All mine popped after 32+ weeks from the belly button down. I got them on my hips and (TMI) even on the inside of my thighs. [IMG] My vote is for genetics. I think I could've spent my entire pregnancy in a vat of baby oil and I STILL would've had stretch marks! [IMG]

I only had a few on my hips with my singletons, I made it to about 33 weeks with the twins with no new ones and then I got some on my belly right in the front under my belly button. They really aren't bad though and I look at them like my boys marked their spot "We were here" so I have grown to like them. I think it is probably inevitable, all you can do is embrace it.
