Hi... I'm new here. I'm on bedrest and have been for a while... preterm contractions that are being controlled by a terb pump in my leg. No major cervical change though...have another scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Just wanted to see who in this group is stuck in bed for a while like me. Feel free to respond even if you aren't though! Thanks for the support!

I am on 4 hrs a day of bedrest starting today. So far though it is not as bad as I thought it would be. It just means we can come on here more right ;)

    Hi there!

Not on bedrest but on restricted everything! Can't mop, vacuum, clean, can't stand for more than 10min. at a time, can't walk anywhere for more than 30min. at a time.. just gotta take it easy. Hoping this doesn't lead to actual bedrest, although, with nothing to do it may as well be bedrest!

good luck to you both!!! and hang in there!!

I'm on bedrest. I went into labor last week just before 30 weeks. Thankfully we got things under control, but I am home and sitting a lot. I'm really not allowed to do anything except shower and use the bathroom. I'm only allowed to leave the house to go to the doctors. It's only been a few days so it hasn't been that bad. I also have to have someone with me all day so different friends and relatives will be here to keep me company so that should help! I know it's best for my girls so I will try not to complain too much :D

Thanks for writing everyone! Great to hear from you all! I had a Perinatal ultrasound this morning at the crack of dawn and got some great news. Well, still on bedrest, but the girls look wonderful, weigh a little over two pounds...and my cervix hasn't done a thing!!!! Whew! The one Peri who was working...tends to be the rude one...was all excited and said that the likelihood of me delivering in two weeks was less than five percent, based on how the cervix looks. I was nervous to meet this doc, even his own nurse warned me about his attitude...but he was so nice and excited for me. yay! Contractions are still doing whatever the heck they want...but I feel better knowing that most likely nothing insane is going on in there!

That is good news! I keep asking my dr to put me on bedrest but he won't! GRRRRR! He hasn't even told me to take it easy. I am allowed to do whatever I want but don't tell my husband that.

    Hey everyone...

Had a sit down appt with my actual Peri today. He was pleased with where things are right now. He told me about how the Terb pump would most likely not be effective in a few weeks...I'll get too used to it. Which isn't really a surprise. When I asked him how far he imagined me getting based on no cervical change yet, but the terb pump possibly not working as well.... He said if he were to place a bet, he'd likely pick 32-34 weeks. Of course he did say anything could happen sooner or later.

So i was just wondering...have your docs played the guessing game as to how far you could get? I hear that 28 weeks is another great milestone.

I was almost 30 weeks when my preterm labor started and they said short term goal 32 weeks. Obviously the longer I hold out the better. I never dialated so they are hoping I can make it to 35 weeks if possible. My scheduled c-section was for April 8th which is over 38 weeks, I don't think I'm going to make it that far! If I make to at least 32 weeks my doctor can deliver me at the hospital we planned on. If I have to go back to the other hospital I was at he can't deliver me there and I'm obviously more comfortable with my own doctor! That alone makes me want to make at least 32 weeks!

I'm 24 weeks today... I was on bedrest for the first trimester.... BORING!

I am fine now, but I ended up getting a handicap sticker (temp) since I'm so out of breath walking long distances. I'm in Michigan so the weather has been cold and I battled a cold all January... My mom has been in the hospital since Nov and I'll tell you..... there isn't any CLOSE parking whats so ever in a hospital!!! So, finally a couple of weeks ago I asked my doctor for the temp sticker. It helps for the long walks.
