My girls and i are going to be traveling to oregon where my family lives staying for six weeks while DH is away (yes, that IS too darn long for him to be in India and Thailand, but that's ANOTHER story!).....

I currently only have a double snap-n-go, but am considering leaving it home and getting two umbrella strollers for out there, since i will likely be going out only w/someone else.

Anyone have any lightweight strollers that they like? I'd rather not spend a fortune (understatement!)

    tks!

If you think you will just be using them on your trip, I would just buy two of the cheapy ones like they have at most of the discount stores. How old are the babies?

Another option would be a double umbrella, like a Jeep SBS. I have one and took it with us on the plane when we traveled. It was around $80-90 at BRU.

Once they outgrow the snap n go / infant carriers, you probably need a lightweight umbrella type stroller for the car anyway (at least I do and did with my oldest) so you would be using it also in the longer run is my guess.

I have a MacLaren Twin Rally for the car (and for travelling) and it'a great stroller, very durable but a little more expensive (I paid $200). But I am using it very regulary since it's my car stroller. Check eBay and Craigslist as well.

I have two Kolkraft umbrella strollers that I bought at BRU for $20 apiece. They come in lots of fun colors and they're easy and lightweight. They have a great sunshade but they don't recline. Walmart sells a less cute but just as easy umbrella stroller for $20 and it reclines.

I absolutely love my Maclaren Volo -- it's a single stroller -- the quality is excellent, and it's so easy and light. We started using it with my DD at 15 months, and she still sits in it for long mall trips and such. It doesn't recline, though, and I'm not sure it would be the most comfortable for babies who aren't sitting up yet.....also, it's about $100, so not the cheapest, either.

I wish they made a double Volo, though! I would get it in a heartbeat.

I have 2 Chicco Capri strollers (about $59 each but if you get coupons and a sale and at BRU you get 10% off for twins) you can get them for a song

I LOVE these strollers - they come with their own carrying bag and strap and are very sturdy...

I have the peg perego side by side, I love it. It only weighs 15 lbs and we took it to Florida and it was great.
