Anyone Have Trouble Finding the Gender?

With DS3 I was 100% convinced he was a boy although we waited until he was born to find out.

With the twins I was 100% convinced they were girls and we decided to find out via ultrasound.

At my 18 week ultrasound the tech said, "I'm not sure, but they are "probably" girls" and the doctor said, "I may have caught a glimpse of just one and "think" they are "most likely" girls.

I left feeling pretty confident with my gut instinct, a probably and a most likely since the doc and the tech weren't in the room together at any point and figured it would be confirmed at my next ultrasound.

On Friday I went in for another u/s at 23 weeks. The tech said, "I can't get a good look and won't even attempt to say if they are boys or girls." The doctor later said, "If I had to guess I would say girls." I asked how much he would be willing to gamble and he said, "I wouldn't risk it."

    SO....

Now I'm not so sure. Since we didn't know my son's gender for sure all of our newborn items are neutral and we had no intention of putting together a nursery until they have arrived safely (they'll stay in our room in bassinets for a few months) so it doesn't really matter, but it's bugging me now.

I'm wondering if others had a hard time finding out the gender (I would think with 2 it would have been easier) or if they were told they were having girls/boy and had the opposite.

My cousin had a similar thing happen to her with her 3rd pregnancy she was told at her 18 week U/S she was having a girl so, they painted the room bought all pink stuff, etc.
Then she had a late U/S at 30 weeks and they told her no, that it was a boy! She was soo upset but, was glad that the baby was healthy.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope that they can tell you something soon!

    heheh. . .

We were told at an early U/S that baby A was 100% boy and B was 80% boy. Fast forward a few weeks to the first visit with the peri, and wow, Baby A was now 100% girl and baby B was 100% boy.

We had registered for all boy stuff between the two ultrasounds and bought blue and green paint for the room.

At 15 weeks Baby B was for sure a boy and Baby A was "pretty sure" a girl, but the cord was in the way. The tech took a long time moving my belly around, getting her to move to try to see, but still couldn't say for sure. At 19 weeks the tech was sure boy and a girl. Then the doc came in a saw them and was sure one was a girl and the boy was being shy. But every ultrasound since then has always been A-girl and B-boy. At least you will get more ultrasounds than most moms to find out!

I was 19 weeks when I went in for my ultrasound.....We didn't know we were having twins....So we got quite the suprise that day!! We left in shock, and doctor was waiting to send us to the Peri to get the sexes of the babies for sure because they were flipping all over the place and she couldn't keep track of who was who.

I think I was 23 weeks when the Peri confirmed boy/girl twins.

I have asked at every u/s if the gender has changed. I didn't find out until 20 weeks and there was proof on the machine. I guess keep asking and hopefully they will have something concrete soon. Although, if I were in your shoes, I would probably get frustrated and ask if they saw any penises in there or what.

My girlfriend found out one of hers was a girl at 24wks, but didn't find the gender of the other babe until she was about 34wks. They were both correct.

Ours apparently gave a very good view to the tech, but we don't want to know.

I found out they were both girls at the 19 week u/s...there was no question, but I STILL ask at every peri appointment: "Can you make sure they are still girls?" Not that the room isn't already painted pink, there is pink bedding and enough girl clothes to choke a donkey!

LOL at some of you ladies stories!

My first baby they couldn't tell and she was a girl. My second it took a few u/s but yup she was a girl. This time with the twins there is for sure a boy (at both 18 week and 21 weeks u/s) he was totally showing his junk off so it was plain as day the tech said heehee. The second looked like a girl at both u/s too so we are pretty sure taht is what we are having. They showed me on the u/s that 3 vertical lines usually means a girl. Good luck!

we saw one girl and one "maybe girl" at our 18 week ultrasound. They didn't say for sure that Baby B was a girl until my 30 week ultrasound!

My first pregnancy we found out we were having a girl at around 20 weeks. With the twins we found out baby B was definitely a girl at our first ultrasound at 22 weeks and the tech said she couldn't tell for baby A. We didn't find out that baby A was for sure a girl until 35 weeks when they had to do an amnio to check for lung maturity. With this baby I want to be surprised so I'm hoping DH will continue to be on board with that.

At 14 weeks we found out that our baby B was a girl but they weren't sure about baby A - they said probably girl. At 18 weeks we found out that both were 100% girl. After having 3 sons I was convinced that at least one had to be a boy and did not fully believe that they were both girls until they were born!

Baby A was a boy for very early on! Each U/S they would confirm it. They said Baby B was a girl or that they were unsure for many U/S. Around my 21st week, they confirmed that Baby B was actually a boy!

I was sure I was carrying two boys.. so when Twin A turned out to be a boy, I had a smug look on my face. Watching the tech do the ultrasound I noticed something was missing on the other baby. Yep, a girl. I still was not sold, so for the next 3 ultrasounds I always asked them to check again!
With Evan, I did the same thing. I had a few ultrasounds because he was a big baby.

Every pregnancy my kids have been very proud to show what they are, so we never had any worry. The twins have been no exception and seem very proud of their family jewels. Good luck!
